I've been thinking this. Why not just sell oil in the yuan, pipe/truck through russia and ship everything else. They already ship most of it, plus china and Russia are closer. Hell, even India has cars. Cheaper energy in the region might just industrialize most of Asia.
America and Canada focus their attention back to fraccing, and a new oil boom happens. When the price of oil rises, fraccing becomes more viable, as it's more expensive to frac. This may lead to a rise in nationalism in Canada and the USA.
