>Work in aerospace
>Been slowing down since the beginning of the year
>Used to get 70+ hours a week
>Now down to 40 hours a week
>Massive decrease in my paycheck
>Barely enough to cover bills
>Not even motivated in the gym anymore
>Goodbye to buying a new car
>Depressed as shit
>Father in law works in oil
>Gets hours cut by 30% and pay by 20%
>Friends in manufacturing super slow

I want off the fucking ride.

I might kill myself if Trump doesn't get elected. Then again it might be good if Trump doesn't get elected so that he doesn't get blamed for this fucking bumble that is about to pop.
>>
I get why oil is tanking, but why aerospace?
>>
You're not the only one, my old man was the laid off in the latest round over at bombardier. He's only looking at the /possibility/ of contract work. A lot of loyalty for someone who had been with them over 20 years ffs. He got a nice severance package though.
>>
>>71087574
im getting more and more and more work to do here in automotive, you're just in the wrong industry.
>>
>>71087855
Bombardier is a joke and should have died twenty years ago.
>>
>>71087712
Chyna isn't buying

And what they are buying, they can build now because we sent all of our jobs there because >muh murricans don't want this job
>>
how can you work 40 hours a week and not pay your bills?

how expensive is america?
>>
>>71087974
They should had died 40 years ago.

Canadian industry has alwasy been supported by direct investment of the federal government. Parliment picks the winners and losers. Sad!
>>
>>71088075
He's a leaf dumbass.
He probably has a shitload of debt from trying to live like an American.
>>
Everything is slow right now. Tax season and people waiting on Democrat or Republican.

Creating dependency for voters.
>>
>>71088075
It's not so much expense as it is retards living outside their means and drowning in debt.
>>
>>71088228
No.

Industrial orders have been trending down every quarter for a while.

Didn't France just sell $9 billion in Rafales to India? The orders are out there, you've just got to sell the product better.
>>
>>71089264
No idea, but France always plays dirty in arms deals. Every fucking time it's dirty pool.

The Rafs are good jets though. It's a shame that Ranjeet will stink it up. But maybe he can shoot down some pakis with it too, so it will balance out.

How are you working in aerospace and not being able to pay your bills? And at least you had time (or at least a chance) to save up money while getting paid well
>21
>Born just in time to see the greatness of the late 90's
>Come into maturity in this completely stagnate economy
>going through college and can't get a job to help pay for it
>Employers want everyone to be on call 24/7 but only give you~25 hours a week. Or fire you as soon as the holiday season is over
>The market is due to collapse late this year or 2017
>Not due to get better until 2022/2024 because of the demographic cliff that is the baby boomers

This generation will be literally driving 90's Toyota's until they are 30 years old vehicles. Fuck anyone over the age of 27. You all had time and got to live the golden age
>>
>>71090386
Boohoo. You're the most spoiled, whiny generation of all time.
>>
>>71090386
1991 baby, and >>71089010
>>
>>71087574
>can barely pay his bills at 40 hour work week
maybe you shouldnt have set your budget up to depend on overtime?
>>
>>71090386
>anyone over the age of 27. You all had time and got to live the golden age
What golden age was that? The post 9/11 destruction of everything we knew, or the 2008 worst recession since the Great Depression?
>>
>>71090386
I was born in 82 to a two parent upper middle class house. My sister's are all teachers have kids doing well etc their college was paid for.
I am a waiter at 34 make about 25 k a year and spend most of my time stoned and dodging work. It's what you make of it really.there wasn't some golden era,
>>
>>71090386
>greatness of the late 90's
Oldfaggot here

There was no such thing
>>
>>71088316
now everyone has one years worth of salary. and now everyone who knew how to run businesses are dead.
>>
>>71090918
Out of the past 3 generations we have gotten the least and have the lowest wealth and buying power out of all generations. Wages have not kept up with inflation and while a leftist argument we are not paid a living wage.

You would be angry too if you couldn't get to the same level of wealth your parents and grandparents had at your age too.

>>71091072
Are you
>working "in" aerospace
or
>Working in aerospace
I guessing your an engineer of some sorts making 60k - 80k not including overtime. Plus California so your wage is probably much higher for cost of living.
Either way no matter how much your being paid. With so much overtime and 40 hours, you are living beyond your means.
But I agree with you fully the economy is about to completely shit the bed

>>71091499
I am running off the general cutoff for millennials which is somewhere 18-34. If your 27 you still had time in the pre 2008 economy to gain experience which is crucial for employment today. Or Graduated college already (Also now crucial).

I saw a job ad for data entry requiring you have a 4 year degree, to make 12$/hr. Nearly all job listings are asking for a college degree now

>>71087574
Aerospace has always been a rollercoaster.
>>
>>71092197
Im actually a bitch ass machinist
>>
>>71087574
Aerospace is cyclical and oil is a depressed sector from too much production

What the fuck did you expect

OP would WWIII help you work?

Because if so, we are about to have it to save the petrodollar.

Unless they are just letting it fail to ruin us, and cause mass rioting and shit.

OP do you have any degrees for your job?

And don't be ashamed of what you do my friend, seek ways to improve your state of mind and value inside.

You create and will your future.

>It's what you make of it really.
true
Not everyone is going to be making fat stacks of cash to burn. But a lot of young people have no hope at all these days, more than previous generations

>>71091650
There were good jobs anon. They paid ok to well, the economy is great, if you left a job on friday you could have a new one by next friday.
It existed my friend and you witnessed it
>you will never live in a great economy and be able to afford a hot rod V8 like the boomers
>ywn live in the great 80's and have jobs flowing like honey

>>71092492
Still a pretty good job anon. Seriously reign in your spending and prepare for the collapse.
Listen to peter Schiff (Don't buy gold though) and Harry Dent. Do your research and prepare accordingly
>>
>>71092944
Yes it would, made some prototype missile fuel tanks today for san diego composites

>>71093125
No I don't. I just have a few years experience working with metal.

>>71093208
Im cutting my spending now. Most people assumed I can't pay my bills but I can, I just can't save anymore, and thats a problem in my eyes. How am I ever supposed to buy my own house without money in the bank?
