>One War is enough for any man. I hope you will be spared a second. Either the bitterness of youth or that of middle-age is enough for a life-time: both is too much. I suffered once what you are going through, if rather differently: because I was very inefficient and unmilitary (and we are alike only in sharing a deep sympathy and feeling for the 'tommy', especially the plain soldier from the agricultural counties). I did not then believe that the 'old folk' suffered much. Now I know. I tell you I feel like a lame canary in a cage. To carry on the old pre-war job – it is just poison. If only I could do something active! But there it is: I am 'permanently reserved', and as such I have my hands too full even to be a Home Guard. And I cannot even get out o'nights to have a crack with a crony.

>basically the lefts usual arguments
I've made different experiences. Most colleagues I talked to will probably vote stay, their main reasons being the following. How will UK participation in H2020 and its successor look like? Would the UKs contributions to ESA increase or decrease following a brexit? How will the interlink ECMWF-ESA/EUMETSAT-MetOffice look in the future? Would a future government reallocate the 'missing' EU funding or will the saved money go towards other areas? Will UK teams have to compete with US teams for international grants or will EU grants be accessible via another treaty?

None of these issues are without possible solutions, but one can see why a 'stay' option is just less hassle..
>>
Economic argument is shit. EU is breeding parasites and you don't want to pay for them as they demand more and more.

Nice, it was 1:5000 here.

Payout? Depends. How bad would you need 10k right now? They are 7 points ahead, and while they haven't won yet - they have a VERY good chance of brining it home. I'd say leave it and cash it in when the Foxes triumph.

>implying you actually bet that

Them offering half the winning pay out suggests they believe the possibly of the bet paying out fully is greater than 50%. As it's more likely than unlikely, don't cash out early. Leicester just have to win 3 out of 6 games so there's no point cashing out unless its near certain they'll lose at this point.

Depends where you live, and whether by freedom of movement you mean to cross borders without visa, or live/work in other EU member states. Holding a Spanish passport means you are a dual British/Spanish citizen and, I believe, as such you are entitled to all the goodies that come with an EU citizenship. In those matters, I don't think anything will change for you. Unless the UK decides to revise their citizenship laws.

CORNHOLE DETECTED

Reason to stay? Hmm, fear politics, though not completely unjustified. The Leave campaign is just shit at the moment, no unity of message. No surprise our big media tend to be pro EU.

DESU the damage of being EU member state is already done - fucked up plenty, no going back there. And the 'big' issues don't have much traction in the nation - sovereignty just aint sexy compared to cheap ryanair flights to the costa del sol.

Safety will push the swing voters to stay. And there isnt enough of a population to vote leave decisively. Urbanites, Labour, Half the Tories, the Scots, the Irish, etc - tend to be pro. DESU I would miss my easy windsurfing weekends over the channel, even if the EU fucked me 7 other ways to sunday.

Gibberish?

Well yeah that's where I was going with my first comment. Germany & co. is trying to change europe to a federalist by insidious means. But I feel like if we wanted to become like America we'd need to go all in and wipe the slate clean, start from ground zero.

With what europe is currently doing it's never going to happen because no-one identifies with some new land of hope and glory, but with their own old country. And now as federalism is being pushed we're seeing the biggest identities, like Britain, saying no.

In all honesty, I fucking hate the beach.

>international capitalism has killed unique national cultures and commerce in Europe.

no, that's called electricity, television, and the internet.

as for "international capitalism"... you fool, that's the default method of human nature.

Capitalism is the most pure expression of human behavior there is. Any time you get rid of it you see black markets pop up. And we all know that black markets are just free markets made illegal by arbitrary laws.

You're the one buttmad here because some guy showed respect for another country in an anonymous ''politics'' board. Oh well whatever I shouldn't be discussing something with a failed colony member at such hours of the night.

PS can confirm is Brighton. still got works going on for the new seafront, pebbles, the roof style (like Brighton pav), green seat. Christ parking is a bastard.
>>
>>71070781
Holy shit what is your problem?

Where is this anti-American hate coming from?

Completely unrelated.
>>
>>71070766
What laws are not arbitrary?
>>
>>71063756
Hope so. Don't give up mon frère. For the queen !

At how you think a statue is for the battle of the nile yet the name of the battle is literally the name of the Square it is on. Which is Trafalgar if you didn't know.
About the ''Anti American'' part of me, it's just what I call, ''common sense''
>>
>>71070977
But that means private property is arbitrary.
>>
>>71070909
Laws that respect human liberty and independence.

Anything that bans or forces something purely for the sake of a social cause is arbitrary.

The social cause of the Marxist was to equalize the classes and the social cause of the cultural Marxist is to equalize the races.

Either way, capitalism has absolutely fuck-all to do with the distillation of cultures.

Worthing, not a cornhole. Literally 15 minutes down the road from Brighton.

>>71070821
Yeah the parking is pretty shit in all the coastal towns in Sussex in my experience.
>>

>Laws that respect human liberty and independence.

Vote for a police and crime commissioner. only question is - will it be above 10% voter turnout?

>>71072517
You got sand? Pebbles is 90% of the south, 9% white cliffs, 1% sand. Woods and green rolling hills as far as the eye can see here.
>>
>>71072739
Yeah we have small sand dunes, an area named after sand (that Hampshire council dumped the results of Solent dredging onto.

Western part is sand dunes and stones
Central stones
Eastern sandy stones
>>

Yep, gibberish.
>>

Brighton is like the only place on the planet that votes for Green Party and that mad aussie bitch. So this guy in the pic doesn't surprise me that hes voting remain one bit.
>>
>>71074419
No Im not too surprised either, but I just wasnt sure.

All the hipster scum who cant afford to live in Brighton have moved to the surrounding towns. Theres always a few of them when I pop into town.
>>
This echo chamber is fucking embarrassing, You retard single issue voters just want out because you think immigrants will destroy the country, while true thats not the only fucking issue, Do you want your fucking human rights, We are heading down a path of 1984 and the EU is the only thing that is in the way
>>
>>71059061

Do you really want to live on an island where the Tories/Labour/the Bankers/the bonuses/the Bankers/the bonuses/<insert political bogeyman here> have complete and total control and nowhere else to turn their malice and spite?

Imagine how hard Cameron will try to pilot us into a nosedive between the vote for exit and all the paperwork being completed and it happening, for example.

prophet of doom mode engaged.

I like europe plenty, and the IDEA of the EU. but the reality is different. Fisheries destroyed, Agri policy, zoning, court and justice sovereignty, muddied economics, lack of change, etc - those are my real issues.

Please convince me otherwise to vote in - immigration is actually a problem that we cant do shit about in real terms, as we are already reasonably saturated (for good or bad)
>>
>>71074782

The irony being g, that the EU doesn't really have anything to do with the immigrants they don't like anyway. Contrary to popular belief, most Pakistanis didn't come here clinging to the underside of a lorry or in a blow up beach toy. They just brought a plane ticket and filled in some paperwork.
