I live in Massachusetts and it's fucking awful. The people here are distant and stoic, everyone is an awful driver, and the divide between the rich and poor has never been more pronounced (hint: it's Chinese people who are rich and everyone else is dirt poor, thanks free trade economics)
I used to live in NH, which wasn't especially great either, but at least tolerable due to the politics, even if they've been shifting left recently
Anyway, New England as a whole categorically sucks because it's by far the most liberal region in the country. MA, VT, and CT are the most liberal states in America. Give it a decade or so until the "progressives" on New England establish interracial breeding grounds

To the people who are arguing that New England is the whitest part of the country: New England also has the highest median age in the country, particularly NH, VT, ME, and MA. All of the white people here are old. We're talking retirement age, baby boomers, and the elderly. Going by the demographic trends of this region, in about two or three decades, this will be by far the least white part of the country. Even going to New Mexico or Arizona, you'll find more young white people. This is how New England masks its liberal policies shifting the demographics.
