What other countries can say they have RARE currency?
Just captured this uncommon $2
>>71054120
Uncommon? My first boss used to buy bricks of $2 bills at the bank to use as change at his store. It was free marketing.
I used to have around 400 of the damn things.
>>71054120
how about you kill yourself for starting such a shitty thread?
>>71054120
Why are they rare?
The only place I ever got them was a bank on a military post.
>>71054354
I've only had one $2 bill in my entire life and most people probably have never had them. Don't act like they aren't uncommon you fucking moron. Your boss is an anomaly in the big picture.

You know most banks just have stacks of these you can get whenever you want right? They arent rare in the least, just no one wants to fuck with two dollar bills.
Hell, I've paid my rent with them before. Shit thread.
>>71054541
nah, I have a hundo in my pocket
Theyre fucking everywhere these days what the fuck you on about pal. Dollar coins on the other hand are rare because everyone who gets them holds on to them thinking they will be rare collectables soon.
only reason 2 dollar bills are "rare" is because idiots hoard them thinking they are worth more
>>71054120
I got a Kennedy fiddy cent piece in change from a convenience store a few months ago. The clerk even said "fuck" under his breath when he grabbed it, so they must have been out of other change. Felt good.
>>71054120
i dont know why i even come here anymore
I will always treasure my Rare Merchant currency note
>>71054952
does that say jews on it?
I've got a £5 coin somewhere in my loft, pretty rare, they're only circulated in limited numbers on special events, like coronations or weddings
>>71054804
there aren't 15 months in a year
>>71054120
2 dollar bills are not rare. you can go to your bank and get them in stacks. i have a stack in my vault that i use when i go to the strip club. the dollar coins are more rare, but again can be aquired at any bank as they are legal tender.
actual rare currency is kennedy half dollars or those giant ass old dollar coins. don't spend those, they are no longer made and worth far more than their face value. especially the kenedy half dollars. i have a cup full of them in my vault. i also have an original 2 dollar bill with some feminist bitch on it. i have that in plastic casing. that is an actual rare 2 dollar bill.
>>71054541
im peruvian and even i have one you huge faggot
>>71054354

>>71054120
A local bar here gives $2 bills and 50 cent pieces as change as their little deal. I have a lot of them.
>>71054120
You can get as many of these as you wish from the bank.
>>71055274
because people will spread the word and say "OMG he gives $2 bills as change!"
>>71055347
thats not silver
>>71055159
Can you tell me your address and the combination to your safe?
>>71055064
Yes.
This is not a shooped bill I swear.
I noticed because I was staring all over this rare 2$ bill and I just was like...
>JeWS
I Should have posted earlier, desu.
You know you can literally go to the bank and ask for $2 bills right?
>>71055347
>silver
i hope you're not serious
>>71055300
>JeWS signature
Dammit I thought I had something of value
Just wait until the Mint releases all their new line of SJW bills over the next decade. Old rich white men on green money will be rare indeed.
That said, I wish we did our money like the Swiss. The CHF are nice looking and reflect Swiss national pride in their people, not just politicians from 200 years ago. It's also really easy to sort them if you aren't a dog.
>>71055085
Thank God for the Restoration

We have all sorts of fucked up currency. The one dollar coin literally nobody uses or even recognises as valid currency, the 50 cent coin which nobody uses, and way back when, there was a half penny.
OP there is no fricking way you have a 2 dollar bill
>>71055814
Thanks Moe, now I know to break in 1st and take the slugs out of your gun and replace them with blanks.
>>71055873
they are shit to lug around and use as currency. but they are actually worth something unlike a 2 dollar bill. if you don't like them i will buy them from you for $2.50
Shit why is everybody so mad it's like I know you can go to the bank to get them but this time I got it at Costco in my change and that's pretty uncommon
removed from circulation :^(
>>71055159
Fake and gay
>>71054485

Because $2 bills aren't printed anymore. But they weren't taken out of circulation.

We have rare bills of new Israeli shekels
>>71054504
I have 20 of those things just go to the bank and ask for $2 bills back.
>>71056216
2 dollar bills are still printed. there was a 10~ year period in the 70s when they weren't printed, but they started printing them again.
bring 200 dollars to any local bank and you can own a fistfull of fresh 2 dollar bills. unless you live in some boondock hick town, then you might have to ask a week in advance for them to order them from the local fed repository.
£50 note checking in
>>71056687
>2 dollar bills are still printed
Oh really? My dad told me they were no longer being printed when I was a kid during the 80s.
Canada do have $1, $2 and $1000 bill before they stop to printing those
The lack of TrumpCoins representation ITT is insulting.
I am profoundly disappointed /pol/.

500, 1000 and 10000 notes do still exist in the american system, but they are only used in fed transfers and since every bank has a digital connection to the fed since the 90s, they are very very rarely used.
More bills... any Russians? Pakis?

>>71055159
>actual rare currency is kennedy half dollars or those giant ass old dollar coins. don't spend those, they are no longer made and worth far more than their face value. especially the kenedy half dollars.
wrong they still mint Kennedy half dollars every year they just aren't released for circulation. The only Kennedys worth anything are the 65-70 40% silver ones worth about $2.5 and the 1964 90% silver ones worth about $6 in silver right now. Eisenhower dollars are not rare in anyway either.
>T. Numismatist
>>71057451
That's probably the Queen of England.
Two-dollar bills and 50-cent coins are pretty rare. I've only had the former twice in my life, the latter maybe a dozen times.
>>71057367
I still have a 3 dollar bill.... and I reveal who's on the bill :^)
I've got a crisp £1 note somewhere, dunno if they're still in circulation but you never see them anywhere anymore.
>>71057567
Of course it's not rare for people who are into collecting. But your average Joe may not see $2 bills or 50c coins frequently.

Until 2007 they still made coins of 5 Agorot.
Now the only coins less than a shekels is a 10 Agorot coin and a 50 Agorot coin.
A lot of people have old coins of 5 Agorot and 1 Agora laying around...

A special 2000 French medallion (I have no clue where I obtained this. I found it in some old boxes from Turkey that my aunt got while she lived there)
Among the currencies, I got some Euros, Francs, Thailand coins, and even a Jordanian coin. Also, I saw a 300 trillion Zimbabwe note, and a $5 Antarctican note. Needless to say, I have seen a bunch of rare currencies

they minted quarters with silver instead of nickel during WWII because they needed the nickel to make guns and shit
I checked and my quarter was in really good condition (silver is softer than nickel so it would usually lose its quality quicker) and was worth like $11 if I chose to sell it. Kept it as a good luck quarter but lost it somewhere down the line, made me pretty sad.
