Kek at the losers at this board that constantly try and taunt us that Pajeet is going to steal our jobs. Clearly you haven't seen Pajeet's work.

When I was freelance literally most of my contracts was fixing their shitty work. The only reason Indians get programming work at all is because in some places there is a shortage of programmers. Their resume is at the bottom of the pile because companies now know it takes 3 Pajeets to equal a real programmer.

Just generally really shitty work that really demonstrates they learnt themselves from English tutorials that they didn't understand.

And I mean the most basic stuff. One of the examples that has stuck with me is one project I inherited where every boolean used was written as Boolean.valueof(true). The same project had a String class variable of 3.14159265359 which was converting to a double every time he wanted to use it.

It blew my mind how bad some of it was. It's beyond amateur shit, to the point where I wonder if they were doing it this badly on purpose.

you can literally program a computer to program. actually writing code is literally ditch digging in the tech industry. the only people who write code that matter are those that write processor level code. and if you have never written a compiler, you have no idea what i am even talking about.

i make 40 dollars an hour as a sys admin and the most programming i do is writing perl scripts. i know poeple that are c/cpp nerds and they make 400 dollars an hour writing hacks for mainly databases.

but to ansewr your question, programming is pretty much ditch digging. it is just work. it isn't that hard if you are trained. the people who make the money are the people with EIS/MIS degrees. those are the guys who hire the pajeets and take the credit.

This is a gem from a project I was fixing. I think the purpose of this method was to format a number to have commas split it up (as in 2,100). By the way, there's a format library native to Java that does the exact same thing with like 2 lines of code.

I don't really know for sure what it was doing though since I gave up understanding it and rewrote the entire class in the end.

There is only one indian programmer in our team. I don't know where to start I hate him so god damn much.

I never got why people do that, for me writing comments helps me conceptualize what's happening better and helps cover my ass if I need to fix something down the line. Like obviously not every if statement needs a paragraph, but I just don't get how people can write header files or functions or anything more complex than a bash script without at least having a few comments

>>71072385
>you need to be smart to be a programmer
kek, not really. you have to be good at copy pasting to be a programmer, you have to be smart to be a good programmer. Like in classes where we had to do some basic scripts, some students would have a solid 20 or 30 lines for a script I wrote with two lines. Both scripts worked, but one was the computing equivalent of a shitting street i.e. eh close enough vs those fancy jap toilets that wipe your ass for you

Alright since this is a programmers thread I'm gonna ask a few questions fellow /pol/acks.

1. I'm currently learning Java in a uni class how hard is the transition into doing real stuff like little programs that calculate stuff and how hard is it to actually develop a software ALL by yourself which implies designed the graphics and layout and all that shit?

2. What is a code monkey?

3. What's the hardest part of coding? Working as a programmer? Is it finding logical errors?
>>
>>71078398

Same here. "We'll just hire more people". Even though past experience has shown time and time again that it takes upwards of 3 months to find a single guy who isn't completely terrible. Then you factor in training time, and the time spent on interviews.

To be fair old school C++ didn't originally have Boolean. You couldn't take a single byte and check if it was true or false. Instead you had to use a normal integer then check if it was 1 or 0.

Can't be arsed to address your questions but I will say don't depend on university to teach you enough to get anywhere near an entry level job.

Uni programming modules usuall stop basic data structure, if you're lucky maybe they'll teach some Swing in your java course (which you'll never use anyway because java work is all backend and you'll never actually make a traditional app).

So do some courses on udemy or some shit, make sure your java skills are advanced.

I've worked with Indians... quite a few of them actually. Most of them are mediocre programmers at best - but they really learn to talk a good game.

They seem to stay on top of the latest trends and learn to be conversationally adept in discussion about them. But when actually faced with writing code, they're usually just fucking terrible.

I think 90% of them are just trying to hard-work their way through the beginnings of their career in the hopes that they'll be promoted to managers, or maybe luck out and get a tech lead job at some unsuspecting company.

I've watched Indians completely destroy companies. They hire their own kind and try to create jobs for one another. They'll work late to show off to the execs, and then use their go-getter facade to squirm their way into architectural roles...

I'm in the process right now of having my last project completely scrapped in favor of some indian dude's pipe-dream. He has no idea what he's doing, but he's convinced the CTO that he has the plan. Now we're flushing two years of work down the toilet because some indian guy knows how to talk about microservices, mongoDB, and tokens.

Fuck Indians. I'd rather work for a jew.

>reddit was coded with python
Some of it was but that was only to make it easier for developers to make extensions and bots for it. Like I said, a lot of libraries.
>is there any impact on java programmer
Not really. Java was made partially with the intention of making applets for the web but that purpose has died down considerably when better things took its place. Not better, rather better suited. But java still has its place in back-end stuff. Minecraft was programmed in Java. So even without the whole web applets thing it's still a very widely used language.

>if you copyright an application or a program coded with JAVA do you have to pay them anything?
Nope. I would like to encourage you to release things in open source. But nah, do whatever the fuck you want.

When Oracle bought Sun (the makers of Java) Google who uses Java extensively for Android actually got sued by Oracle. Obviously Google won.
>Oracle America, Inc. v. Google, Inc. is a dispute related to Oracle's copyright and patent claims on Google's Android operating system. In May 2012, the jury in this case found that Google did not infringe on Oracle's patents, and the trial judge ruled that the structure of the Java APIs used by Google was not copyrightable.

This doesn't really impact your question. I just like the story.

Uhm. Hmm, wh-what's that output?

Other than that, what exactly are you doing with the arrays? Why are they initialized like that? You can use one 2d 9x9.
Also, and this purely stylistic but I'm not sure if you know about it. You can do
>sum += temp;
Which is read as sum = sum + temp
A lot of shortcuts exist. I see you know i++ and ++i. There's +=, -=, *=, /=, etc.

So I googled COMP 202 Canada and it says you go to McGill. And one of the potential instructor is a poo-in-loo. Is he yours?

Another stylistic thing, feel free to not do these - A condition evaluates to either true or false therefore you don't need to enter ==
That line can be simplified as -
>while(!a.getIsDead() && ! b.getIsDead())
Also, typically java does use the phrase get to get a variable but I would just name that method isDead().
Like I said, you don't have to copy my styles. Do what you like.

Can I see your hero class?

Any particular reason you made a string variable and returned it instead of just returning it directly?

Also, the this modifier is only needed when there is a scope issue. So in your constructor you need it but you don't in your toString. That said, I had a professor who put it all the time. So again, just letting you know of the varying styles as I have no idea how they teach up there in Canada.

You need it in your constructor because you have two variables with the same name. The one up top in class scope and the one in the parameter list in method scope.

they are something worse than creepy. especially non-indian females. they just become overwhelmed with animal-like lust upon seeing a light-skin female. they are so blinded by impulse that they don't even seem to notice the other indians involved in during the rape.
they will follow white guys around in packs of 20-30 men, too. there is a guy on youtube that posted videos of him being followed for hours by a group of men of all ages that just got bigger and bigger as he walked through the market with his camera recording everything behind him because they would instantly look away or scatter and hide when he turned around but they would come right back again. its supposed to be pretty standard behavior though.
