>>71051294
>Slovenja + Hrvaška = Slovaška
Would be funny.
I don't particularly care desu.
People are still calling us Czechoslovakia anyway.
>>71051605
When your country's name has "republic" in it, you can be sure nobody's going to utter the whole thing.
God damn it.
The official name ISN'T changing

>>71051941

Please no. Czechia is pleb tier. No need to change the name.
>>71053154
>my language has 5 in use names for corpse, one ancestral from latin (mortăciune), one borrowed from old slavonic (stârv), one from hungarian (hoit), one from turkish (leș) and one from french (cadavru)
Why we need so many words for corpse I don't know. There's also some not used anymore as well.

A Russian scientist and a Czechoslovakian scientist had spent their whole lives studying the majestic grizzly bear. Each year they petitioned their respective governments to allow them to go to Yellowstone to study these wondrous beasts. Finally, their request was granted and they immediately flew to New York and then west to Yellowstone. They reported to the local ranger station and were told that it was the grizzly mating season and it was much too dangerous to go out and study the animals. They pleaded that this was their only chance. Finally the ranger relented. The Russian and the Czech were given cell phones and told to report in each day.
For several days they called in, and then nothing was heard from the two scientists. The rangers mounted a search party and found the scientists' camp completely ravaged. There was no sign of the missing men.
They then followed the trail of a male and a female bear. They found the female and decided they must kill the animal to find out if she had eaten the scientists, because they feared an international incident. They killed the female and cut open the bear's stomach and, sure enough, found the remains of the Russian.
One ranger turned to the other and said, "You know what this means, don't you?"
"Of course," the other ranger nodded. "The Czech is in the male."
Wasn't it called Czechia historically? Someone redpill me on that. Anyway Czechia sound's better than Czech Republic. Nothings as retarded as when someone refers to someone as 'Czech Republican'
>>71052252
false.R.moldova is just North moldavia.Romania already has the South.Fucking russians.
Romania would have been called Dacia if itwasnt for the transylvanian school support from italians!
>>71052017
Nobody cares.
We're talking about what Americans call it. That's all that really matters anyways.
Always called it 'Tsjekkia' here...
>>71054695
Actually, could some Romanians redpill me on what's the difference between Moldova and Moldavia?
>>71054320
Neither us. Csehország.
>>71054652

>Wasn't it called Czechia historically?
The name "Czehia" was first mentioned in 30 years war, but it never become relevant since Bohemia sounds way cooler.
>Nothings as retarded as when someone refers to someone as 'Czech Republican'
Why would someone do that? I get that people might call Afghans Afghanistanis, because "stan" is from brown language and they do not understand, but republic is a latin word and everyone understands it.
>>71054655
We're still gonna be Czech Republic tho
>Czech Republican
wtf? nobody says that, we're Czechs
>>71055682
the light green and grey are both Moldova but the western part was annexed by the russians, same as N.Bukovina,Pokutia, and parts of Maramures

>>71055684
Czech, out of all the west Slav, make no sense to me.
It seems like after 1918 they just magically appeared out of German lands.
They've pretty much always been under German suzerainty and yet somehow maintained a pretty distinct culture and language.
I'm in Afghanistan right now and we have a bunch of Czech here. They're all (like >70%) over 1.8 m tall and honestly seem really gay with each other.
Nobody here knows what they do. They smell like fresh laundry and all look like gay pornstars.
Fucking weird people, man.
I love it. I always refered to my country as "Czechia" online.
The republic part is obnoxious to spell every time.
>>71056019
>>71055957
what's wrong with Bohemia though
everyone calls us huns and only our neighbors bother with the Magyar-Madjar thing
why not just go with the ye olde name?
>>71056019
I'm pretty sure most Americans can say Czech Republic
Either way, I heard it was change due to EU reasons or something
>>71053800
Makes sense, since Czech was virtually undamaged after the WWII despite bordering Germany.
>>71056204
Never heard someone calling magyars majars. That is the proto-name of the tribe.
In Romania we either call you maghiar, ungur or bozgor :)

>>71056124
Which branch are they?
>>71057231
Much, much longer.
It's amazing how you kept your own culture.
I mean, for Pete's sake, my ancestors bullied Czechs around for far longer than they were ever American.
>>71054320
Same, we're already used to call it "Tschechien"
>>71056460
but that's exactly my point Radu, that we get called Huns and Hungarians everywhere since before Romania was even a wet dream of the Great Khan Basarab :^)
so besides the bozgorposting you just backed up what I said, thanks pecheneg neighbor
>>71057333
Army.
They do force protection.
Last time I was out here in 2010 they did route clearance for us. Pretty good troops to be perfectly and completely honest my familial friend.
>>71051294
It would make sense to change it like that but it sounds so cringeworthy. There has to be another option like "Czech my dubs" or something.
>>71057342
>Much, much longer.
~30 years aint that much
>>71057231
>occupation
>>71057342

and after the HRR you had the Austrians come in. And then the Prussians... and then again with the Germans briefly in 1938 to 1945. And then you were under the Iron Curtain. And now NATO...
such is life...
naw, just bants. I think Czech people are pretty cool.
>>71057942
>>71057942

Heiliges Romisches Reich.
I meant to post >>71058002 that pic
>Also Prussians didn't occupied the whole country, If I recall correctly.
It was Austrian from the end of HRR to the end of WW1 in 1918.
>>71058626
>Heiliges Romisches Reich
That wasnt occupation though, since you know, king of Bohemia was an Elector and could become Kaiser
>It was Austrian from the end of HRR to the end of WW1 in 1918.
Why did you mentioned Prussians, then? They were here only during the Austro-Prussian war
>>71059171
>That wasnt occupation though, since you know, king of Bohemia was an Elector and could become Kaiser
but the elector spoke German and for all intents and purposes upheld German cultural practices. That's why I used the term "suzerainty" for this time.
>Why did you mentioned Prussians, then?
I've been drinking.
>>71057428
Basarab was full european according to genetic test.THe cuman origin was just a 21th century of Djuvara.

Most countries have a shorthand name. The Republic of France is just France, the Russian Federation is just Russia, etc.
And it follows the Slavic nomenclature (Slovakia = Slovak Republic, Russia = Russian Federation, Czechia = Czech Republic).
