Well anon I kind of agree with you, however it depends on your definition of Israel. If you are talking about modern Israel from 1946 to present time then yes I agree with you.
However if you take the longer look at Israel, then I think their temple was destroyed a couple times and their people driven into diaspora across the world for a few millenia. I suspect it is because ancient Israelites did not have the battle torah technology of today's Israel.
