They can still file federal lawsuits m8. These protections are shitty anyway for reasonable employers. My company is 90% latina women with the management being white men. When we let them go, even for valid reasons, they always file a discrimination lawsuit. Now, we have to basically let them fuck up constantly, document everything, then get an owner, HR, and an observer together to do a gentle firing.
When I started 10yrs ago the owner would literally point and somebody after a mistake and say "You're out of here..." and that would be it. That was the world I thought I was going to inherit.
