Something I don't understand as a Dane is Sweden.
Having read up on Swedish history it seems glorious and interesting. Wikipedia even have much more in-depth detailed information about Sweden and her military endeavours, especially when compared to the comparable meager descriptions of Danish ditto.
And still Swedish people and especially their politicians say Sweden doesn't have a culture or history.
It seems Sweden took a heavier blow to the public self esteem from her glory days, and strangely a lot more than Denmark which lost much much more.
It hurts a Dane the people, which many Danes consider brothers through and through getting torn apart by complete insanity!
Danes got a saying when we lost the rest of our "empire" to the Prussians in 1864: "Hvad ud af tabes skal indad vindes" - more or less: "What is lost to the outside, must be won inside (make us stronger inside)"

I'm as sad about the situation in Sweden as most other Danes are but the continuous lack of will from the Swedes to rectify their problems with non-western immigrants makes me somewhat apathetic to the Swedish people.
For me it looks like they've just given up on themselves and has turned their back on their race, culture and history. It's sad.

I'm curious about this topic as well, but you got some decent answers in this thread (not counting my first reply).
Sweden has historically had a strong sense of nationalism up to WW2 where they had, while neutral, a somewhat ambiguous role considering their relations with the Germans. Many Swedes enrolled in the Wehrmacht to fight alongside Finns against Russians, and many other Swedes worked in industries that either directly or indirectly benefited the Germans (mining, railroads, weapons production etc.).
During WW2 lots of Jews fled from both Denmark and Norway to Sweden. While im entirely convinced by the /pol/spiracies regarding Jews, it cannot be denied that Jews play a significant role in Swedish media as well as proponents of cultural marxism which without question is at the core of the demise of Sweden.
With a right wing who has historically been very active and widespread - but also violent - left wingers had a good foothold against the right wing. The fall of fascism and nationalism certainly helped to further their case.
As others have also pointed out, the assassination of Palme, one of the early leading political figures for Sweden as a "humanitarian superpower", the left wing only gained ground.
In recent years the media in Sweden (largely owned by Jews) have been pushing a very one-sided agenda and since that we now have a generation who has grown up with this propaganda, I guess they don't feel any particular attachments to their cultural heritage and thus do not pride themselves in Swedish culture either. If a nation loses its identity like this, it becomes weak and submissive, as we can conclude by observing present day Swedes.
The only political party in Sweden that actually has a plan to deal with the immigration issues that Sweden are facing has some questionable ties to the far-right groups in Sweden who are somewhat extreme. cont

Two things to think of.
Sweden held a prohibition vote. Tight control won over complete prohibition. Scania was the part of the country with the largest support for keeping booze legal. Mainly due to that we never had any english dissenter churches here because we liked Grundtvig and also had Folkhögskolor.
