it's not a major threat for life itself, life will persist. Humans on the other hand, a majority of which live within 1-3m of sea levels are very sensitive to it.
The majority of climate change isn't caused by humans, but the problem is that the part that is caused by it isn't matched by balancing factors that naturally cancel each other out.
So in short, a volcano going up or some particular hot summer do drive climate change, but are met by equal and opposite forces in nature, burning fossil fuels like we are doing right now isn't.

The focus on climate change is a non-issue. Whether you believe in it or you don't, both sides must concede that we are currently using a large amount of fossil fuels and non-replenishable resources.
