Poland is a country nowadays cause German WW1 reparations were too much to handle for the country, so they'd be payed by industralist such as the owner of silesia (Hochberg). That guy did fund 3 uprisings in 1919, 1920, and 1921, and also wanted to install his son as a King of Poland, was worth it for him as he didn't had to pay reparation fees. As things turned out, the best he could do, was to have a semi-independent silesian country under new Polish country he lobbied about in Europe. That's why Polish-German relationships weren't the best in between WW1 and WW2.

These are our land. They're called "regained lands" for a reason mate. Germans stole them from us, resettled Polish people and forced Germans to occupy those lands.
Polish govt aided by Soviets drove the occupiers out and that land was rightfully polish once again.
But not all lands were given back.
Slavic settlements reached far more westward than our current borders.
