You have the right to healthcare. Just like well educated professionals have the right to charge you for it.

It's not a "human right" unless you can have it without society's help. Eating, breeding, protecting yourself are human rights. Professional healthcare is not.

Also a constitutional right is not the same as a human right and nobody says it is.

No one is preventing anyone from getting healthcare, the only thing making it hard to get is ones own resources. same thing with guns. remember, doctors need special equipment, special rooms and all sorts of other shit that costs money, wayyyy more than an "assault weapon", and even so, I've never heard anyone with a brain on the pro gun side insinuate we have the govt prevent people from receiving healthcare

Buying a weapon for self defense is a human right be your attacker a robber or infection. We differ on how we ought to acquire these defenses. You assert that as all infection is at odds with humanity medicine should be free. We differ on the polar assertion that all of humanity is in harmonious unison by contrast. Which is demonstrably not so. 6 in one hand and half dozen in the other says i. Be it 80% to 90% or any contrast otherwise. I shall never concede that free pills lets say, outweighs my right to use what funds i have earned to purchase the means to defend what else ive earned be it my car or fatherhood. I shant bend for you nor any other who would take from my fangs the poison. be it by the steelof a blade or lead of a round or any other somber piece of metal, i cannot reconcile the relinquishment of the defense of that which ive fought for once already.

This is implying waaay too much.

What's required is REASONABLE healthcare (with reductions in cost, not making it completely free - not even we do that).
REASONABLE welfare is also needed, as well as REASONABLE gun control.

Did i mention they must be REASONABLE.

Stop jumping on extremes, use thresholds.
>>
>>71003132
>What's a good starter gun?
Depends. You should choose whether you want a handgun, rifle, or shotgun first, then figure out which model of that type you like the best.

>How much should I be willing to shill out?
Cheapest thing you can get is a shotgun or a .22LR peashooter.

>Where can I shoot it?
That's what the internet is for.

>How do you into hunting?
Buy land, build a tree stand, sit in that tree stand, shoot anything on four legs or with feathers.

>Is having depression something that they can stop you from getting a gun?
Possibly. Not according to federal law, but per state, maybe.

Easy, nobody is asking the taxpayers to ensure that everyone has guns. Everyone has a right to own a gun, but they still have to buy that gun with their own money.

What many people don't seem to get is that just because you have a right to have something doesn't mean the government has to pay for it. You've got a right to healthcare, but it isn't free.

The idiot libturd doesn't understand negative rights vs. positive rights.

>the ability to own something and the ability to defend your own life with it
This is a negative right because it doesn't require action in order for the right to exist. Negative rights are considered civil or natural rights, like freedom of speech, freedom of religion, etc.

>the ability to be treated for illnesses by a doctor
This is a positive right because it requires that the doctor be compelled to work, potentially for free as a sort of slave of the state. Positive rights are not considered natural rights, and people who claim them to be are either mentally ill, or trying to pull one over on you. You can't have a right that depends on the compulsory labor of others.

I have never had health insurance all my life. I'm 31. Only serious complication I've had is removing a kidney stone, and that was more of a nuisance than a life threatening issue.

Yesterday I heard a woman in her early 20s complain about getting an MRI on a sprained ankle. A fucking MRI. Healthcare is messed up in this country, it's not a universal right but then again the people that do have it use it for literally fucking nothing. There's a great imbalance here.
>>
Populus pays taxes. Populus receives free/cheap healthcare and other things from government in return. So it's more like give and take. But since your retard brains can't handle this equation you have the right to pay 100 000 $ cause your leg got shot. And the gun that did it cost only 1200 $

The purpose of the 2nd Amendment is clearly explained in Federalist Paper 46, by James Madison; And that purpose is for individuals to be capable of protecting themselves and to protect themselves and others from tyranny in government, being armed and knowing how to use a gun fits that purpose. I’m not sure why that’s so difficult to understand. Also, Jefferson and Madison may have wanted the Constitution and the Bill of Rights to be able to be altered, but for the benefit of the people, not to the benefit of the government. It doesn’t benefit us in any way, or help us further protect ourselves per the intent of the 2nd Amendment by allowing the government to cripple it’s intent.

The existing Bill of Rights was the only reason for accepting the Constitution with a stronger centralized government over the Articles of the Confederation. It’s clear and unambiguous if you read the very words of the men who wrote them. If you faggots don’t understand that, you are a threat to American rights and freedom.

What's unreasonable about the gun control we have now?

Why do we need to further legislate access to guns when already 19k, a majority, of the deaths are because of suicides?

Yes there has. An assault rifle is a magazine fed rifle caliber weapon that fires an intermediate powered cartridge. This is the part liberals can't understand. The final characteristic is it has to be select fire. Meaning it can be set to fire in simi and fully automatic. All of the evil children killing assault murder small penis redneck guns are in fact not actually assault rifles.

I do think healthcare costs in America are way too fucking high. I remember in high school, I got a pretty bad nosebleed and got sent to the hospital since it wouldn't stop after like 15 minutes which then they're required to send you there.

Nosebleed stopped naturally like a minute or two after that and they just asked me some questions and sent me home. Got the bill in the mail for around 400-500 USD or so for them to do nothing. Health insurance paid for it but what the hell is that shit?
>>

have i missed something...

or did Texas not get shut down by the Supreme Court for requiring id's to vote?

I'm pretty sure there is alot of states that don't require ID's to vote. You need to register to vote at a certain place at the dmv or tag agency, but mexicans are great at getting fake id's and driver's licenses. further, if you know the name of someone that isn't going to vote, you could just walk in and vote for them. Every time I've been, i've never showed an id, just gave them my name.

the federal government limited the amount of licensed/bonded insurers per state because the banks (who are the insurance companies) lobbied for it.

They also outlawed extrastate insurers in some places, which Trump is going to repeal. less competition = higher prices. Since almost all of the hospitals deal with insurance companies, they don't have separate prices for someone who doesn't have insurance.

Someone told me that I could call the ER doctor and he would lower my price and cut out alot of the overhead bullshit. I didn't believe him until i got a bad cut and needed stitches. 1500 dollars turned into 220 dollars in a 5 minute phone call to his office, they even offered to set me up on a payment plan.

Ok, I personally think that healthcare is a good thing and that it is the responsibility of a country to ensure a basic level of health amongst it's populace. But let's be real here: The right to a weapon, to defend yourself, your family, your freedom and your country is a human right. The "right" to having everyone else communally pay for your medical bills is nice, but not actually a human right.

No, you have a right to proper defense/representation once the State levies charges against you.

How is the state naturally involved in healthcare? There is no mandate in any of the founding language of our country that suggests the state needs to look out for your welfare outside of enforcing the limited laws.

What I don't understand about libtards is if they think healthcare is a right, why do they think its a responsibility for someone not living in your county? or living in your state? Why would Kansas citizens need to pay for Californians? Their economies are much different, there populations are much different.

If you libtards want to preach healthcare for all, the only way anyone with a brain will listen is if you propose it at the municipal level, where it would make the most sense to literally take of your neighbors. But really, you just want to bleat about how trendy and loving you are, while you support destroying and subverting your own culture at every opportunity.

How do I refute this....let's see what the Founding Fathers had to say. I looked through the Bill of Rights and, *bam* 2nd amendment. I kept looking for something on healthcare but I guess they ran out of paper.

The US did pretty well for almost 200 years, until the modern welfare mentality took root. So, I'm going to go with "no, you and your entitlement mentality is what's wrong with America."

The 2nd amendment gun right was conditioned upon a well regulated militia.

As such, gun rights are necessarily subject to reasonable regulations.

>background checks for all sales
>necessary mental health requirements
>age requirements
>health requirements (blind people probably shouldn't get guns)

Basically, you need to be fit to serve in a regulated militia to get a gun. And that's fine.

>A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Those are commas, denoting woven ideas, not describing extent. A well regulated Militia is necessary TO the security of a free state and that free state rests upon the RIGHT of the people to keep and bear arms.

Libtards do not understand the Constitution is not the same as the bill of rights. It is an outline of powers granted to the federal government, it does not outline freedom or rights to the people.

it is saying that the militia and the RIGHTS of the people to own and operate firearms will not be infringed, i.e. you, the federal government, cannot legislate against these principles.
>>
>>71001074

You have the right to healthcare in America, just like you have the right to a firearm.

Because guns are in the constitution and healthcare is not.

> Be a lawyer or be a poet.
To be fair, the US constitution is one of the documents that helped to establish the language of law and many of the rules of the English language. There weren't really many formal spelling or grammar rules before then. Americans were the ones to begin codifying those and our founding documents were the baseline of that effort.
>>
>>71010357
Is there any hard evidence at all on this? Have they released anything? All I've seen is some fat State Police guy telling us what happened, but not letting anybody inside.
>>
>>71010239

That would be true, however at the time and in the current year, the Constitution does not outline, grant, or condone any Rights to anyone.

People get this confused, but its not giving anyone a Right, its saying that it is a Right, self-evidently, and the Federal Government shall specifically never create legislation against these things.

In the proper context, it doesn't really matter if it isn't clear. its very clear that the whole of the sentence content shall not be legislated against.
>>

>good starter gun

Depends on your needs. If you're just interested in general home defense, an AR15 or AK. I'd recommend going to /k/'s AR general for some recommendations for cheap rifles (personally would recommend Palmetto State Armory).

If you want something smaller or want to get involved with concealed carry as soon as possible, a handgun would probably be next on the chopping block.

Or if you have land available and just want to go shoot shit for fun, get a Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun. It'll cover home defense well enough.

Just whatever you get, put the time and effort into training yourself to use it properly. Know that weapon like it was your own hand.
