You mean the actual economics that led to the collapse of Bear Sterns, the AIG bailout, the collapse of Lehman Brothers, TARP, QE1, QE2, Operation Twist, QE3, and massive reverse repos from the Fed at the end of the quarter so that banks can tidy up their balance sheets with some of that "high quality collateral" that the Fed hoovered up with POMO? The most important thing you should remember is that Federal Reserve is Privately Owned.It is a Private Corporation and has shareholders.
This create a lot of cognitive dissonace amongst paulbots who want to end the fed but also claim private property is sacrosanct. Been here 4 years, and I have seen more than once libertarians trying to ignore this aspect of fed.

It doesn't create that much cognitive dissonance once you realize that it is a private entity that was publicly chartered by the government to supposedly serve a public function. It has control over the money supply. Nobody should have control over that.
