If two incomes weren't essentially required just to keep bills payed, put food on the table, and have any sort of savings, more women would love to stay at home and raise families. When we are forced to work, having children and taking care of the home becomes a huge burden for many women. I know quite a few girls who would love to be homemakers and have children, but since they and their boyfriends/husbands have to work 40+ hours a week, they put off having children until they have enough saved up or he makes enough money that she can drop to part time work or quit entirely to focus on the home. At least where I'm from, girls hate working and don't really want careers and would trade their jobs to be mothers in a heartbeat if they had the money.

Women working makes college more expensive, makes it difficult to find a job and makes everyone get paid less. Women should stay home and have children, raise them, make sure that their husbands are able to work to support them with a stable, clean house and healthy meals provided for them. They should take care of bills and other tedious household chores as much as possible to alleviate the stress on the husband. It's okay for some women to work or for couples to swap roles, but most people should be more traditional. No idea how to change it, though. It's probably impossible.

It's almost easier to make money at home if you have a computer and free time than it is to go into massive debt for a degree that probably won't help you much anyways and desperately hunt for low-paying jobs. You can freelance in a million different ways to make a basic income perfect for supplementing your partner- who will be better able to have time for school and work with you also working. Yes women foregoing marriage till much later or even completely will affect society, but it is honestly changing back already.
The purpose of articles like this, even in the Economist, is to try to cheer up women who are thirty plus years old and are starting to feel depressed over not being married yet. The articles are largely meant as "You go girl! You are strong! You don't need a man to be happy!" sort of things. Even bookish career minded women feel really really bad if they are not married by a certain age.
Look at Megan McCardle, who ironically used to write for the Economist I believe. She wrote an article where she talked about how in her thirties she broke down and cried when trying to come to terms that she would never be married. It was almost like she was dealing with a death in the family it sounded so fraught. Now she eventually got married which is probably why she felt comfortable writing an article like that, but women who don't get married by that age will never reveal their disappointment publicly because they are too busy trying to convince themselves that they are in fact not really saddened about it.
But if you really want a married girl, just pursue her, date her and then marry her. They get easier the older they get.
