-Healthcare is not free and sucks. GPs start at 50€ and a visit to the emergency in a hospital is 100€ plus 75 for each night you stay there. Expect 12 hour waits in hospitals.
-Transport is expensive. 2.5€ to do 8km by train. 18€ to do 250km by train or bus.

The big cities in the Republic like Dublin, Cork and Limerick are insufferable, Galway to an extent. Once you get out into the countryside, the landscape is spectacular and the people are friendlier than any cunt from Dublin.
