Thats a commmon misconception, people who have never been to the south states may think Mexico is full of indigenous people but the fact is, the more up north you go, the less indigenous people you see on a daily basis.
Theres a reason why central and soiuthern states are know for their beautiful turistic towns, beaches, little commununities in the middle of the juhngle where indigenous tribes still remain untouched to this day, so if you ever see some white people there its %100 guaranteed they are tourists.
