What does Cruz have to offer as VP?

He certainly doesn't play with others.

He doesn't offer anything that Trump does.

He is one of those religious nutjob neocons that led the party into the red zone of dead party.

He is a fucking slimey rat.

Meanwhile Trump can pick someone more moderate and he said he would pick a Washington insider to help him with the inside game. I wish we were allowed to pick democrats but this shit is absurd we have to most likely bring some cuck on board instead of someone worthy like Jim Webb.

At least Trump said for the most part it won't be someone he trounced easily in the debates.

To some of the establishment, of course he's acceptable on a certain level, far more so than Cruz. Folks as diverse from Jimmy Carter to Bob Dole have attested to that fact. Not considering his poll numbers, however, entirely due to self-inflicted injury. His divisive, negative campaigning style. His outlandish (and fake) statements to stake out ground for purposes of positioning vis-a-vis other candidates int he race. He'd be such a drag on everyone else running that it endangers Republican control of state legislatures across the nation, not to mention the Senate (probably not the house). That's what makes him unacceptable and subject to efforts to keep him from the nomination.

Fantasy situations aren't basic, they don't exist. Trump is polling at a double digit deficit against his likely general election opponent. He has negative coat tails. His nomination would be disastrous for every candidate running, incumbent or challenger.

I'll give you credit on the last two pieces regarding the infographic and at least the first quarter of the article, but what you said about the first source doesn't discredit it. If it was donated by the individuals, then why is it listed and widely accepted as a donation from Goldman Sachs rather than as an independent donation? If it were multiple independent donations, it should/would be listed as such without the branding of Goldman Sachs.

Now, you never quite answered the first question I asked, or rather addressed it fully. I'm genuinely curious what you think about it

"We" (me and the anon with whom I was interacting) were discussing the disaster which would ensue should Trump be nominated, because he won't win, and therefore won't help others running for office.

>And he will turn it around no problem
No candidate who has been as consistently far back at this point in any previous cycle has won the presidency.

>>Trump has negative coat tails.
>Cruz also has negative favarability
Not the same thing. Negative coat tails is what happens when you have a nominee so polarizing that he brings the oppositions base out at humongous levels. This is what the polling (and all analysis, all reason, all testimonials of people who'll dedicate themselves to turning out the vote against Trump) shows will happen should Trump become the nominee.

A candidate can have negative favorability and still do well; especially if the opponent's is worse, as is the case in Cruz vs Hillary. Trump's, on the other hand, is worse than Hillary's. Which takes effort.

>Yeah he also said he is now no longer estasblishment and he was joking the whole time.So I don't get your retarded point
My point is obviously that Trump is establishment, as he claims, and as his position in society makes clear, and is merely playing the role of an insurgent for purposes of the primary election.

This is not to say that Trump is part of Republican party establishment (which is a different thing that the socio-economic-cultural one I'm referring to above), or would be beholden to them. He wouldn't be, as he would have forged a path to power without them.

Then again, neither would Ted Cruz, for accomplishing the same thing.
>Especially when Cruz is the one getting actual support and funding from the establishment.
Cruz isn't getting funding. He only recently got a few people from the party establishment to reluctantly support him.

>deportations, amnesty
He is telegraphing his policy, by which he could go to Washington and deal (as he says his administration will be all about) for the amnesty that the place wants, with the ability to turn to his supporters to tell them "that's what I was talking about the entire time and still you supported me." Mass deportation followed by individual amnesty on a case by case basis. So he'll have fulfilled his campaign rhetoric, after a fashion, and yet the establishment (politicians, businesses) still gets those new immigrant citizens that it desires.

>because he won't win

Again we are not talking about Loser Ted here.

>No candidate who has been as consistently far back at this point in any previous cycle has won the presidency

Even Nate Silver realised that previous rules don't apply this election,Or at least not ad much. And admitted that Trump stands a chance:

>A candidate can have negative favorability and still do well; especially if the opponent's is worse, as is the case in Cruz vs Hillary. Trump's, on the other hand, is worse than Hillary's. Which takes effort

Not even close Cruz is much worse.Henhad pastors that want to kills gays support him.Is generally unlikable and doesn't have any appeal to a general audience.

Trump in the general can stop avoiding the fact that her used to be a democrat and much more moderate. And can switch back to the well spoken businessman he was years ago.

>I'm a little bit curious on why
>missed your post

Because there is no stipulation that says you have to be born on American soil. That's not a thing (and hasn't been for other presidents who've run as their party's nominee regardless). Meanwhile, children of Americans are Americans. The only rationality some who are opposed to Cruz raise is some interpretation that it doesn't count since the one parent who gave Ted his status of natural born citizen was his mother, but that's stretching beyond all reason.

Reagan was not 11 points back in April, and the Democratic opponent in 2016 will not be a failed incumbent president. Get informed (beyond the fact that Reagan didn't win 47 states against Carter, it was 44).

>Trump hasn't started on her meme
This starts from the assumption that Trump has the power to knock off candidates in single combat when this hasn't in fact happened. Trump hasn't been involved in head to head matchups with his opponents, side by side with other simultaneous one-on-one races. Instead, there has been a crowded primary field. That's the basis upon which one ought to analyze Trump's prospects.

Trump will not be able to go silent on the debate stage for long stretches and let others score points. Trump will not be able to stand back and let two lesser candidates run adds against each other while he costs on unopposed media access. Trump would be in a one-on-one with a candidate who beats him by 11pts out of the gate, and his deficit is unrecoverable, because his demographics are horrendous.

Hillary will have been in 10 debates this cycle, a number of them in 2008 and been familiarize in the format since her initial senate run fifteen years ago. Trump isn't nearly as versed, and has had a proprietary strategy for those he's been involved in. He hasn't honed his skill such that the people should expect him to do well against her. Rather, owing to his big fish in a small lake advantage that give him plurality victories in a crowded field, he operated on the premise of not losing support of his supporters; he played to a niche.

You are expecting Trump to just walk on stage and say things which already have you in his corner. That is not nearly good enough.

Clinton BTFO out the entire field at the beginning of the process, because---regardless of how poorly she is perceived by the general public---she had a higher recognition, and people at least associated her with elected office. Since then, many republicans of the field have caught up to and passed Hillary; the people decided that should they have the opportunity, they'd have them over Clinton. Of course, not all of Republicans were realistic options, as they couldn't secure the party's nomination and make their race happen.

Not Trump, though, who's never caught her in the average. He's only ever topped her in several singular polls that remain outliers. Consistent loser. 11pts by this point previous to a general election is very bad news.

Cruz is the only guy left who can both secure the nomination without the party burning to the ground, and can also beat the Democrat as he had in recent polling.

what do you think the definition of "natural born" is? Have you considered looking up what "natural born" meant at the time of writing? could it have been well established that it meant born within the bounds of your realm? you can naturalize, you can't give natural born status

Cruz does best with solidly conservative and libertarian voters. You birther types don't count as being counted amongst lovers of the constitution, because you're only interested in it as a means to have victory without forming the better arguments. You want wins on technicalities and miss the spirit of the thing. Which is why you always lose.

Cruz is the one getting awarded delegates in states her didn't actually win through people voting.

Because FEC requirements are such that the donations of individuals are categorized by where contributors are employed. We can know they're donations from a number of different people for the fact that they fall under the category of independent donations, where campaign finance law limits contributions at $2,700 per person ($5,400 per couple). Now say you as an individual gave a contribution, you'd have your employer listed. But as you're just some guy who likes Ted from afar and nobody else in your company was so interested, it wouldn't make it very high on the list. The Goldman's line does show up for the fact that that's where Ted and Heidi associates are concentrated, because she works there. They are her friends and co-workers.
