Explain this shit conservatards. What the fuck is a "custom laptop" and what does it have to do with healthcare?
Laptops are easy to steal, or buy stolen at a cheap price
Healthcare is not
>>70948054
>it isn't a mac, so its custom built pc
Daily reminder that conservatives unironically believe that you literally can't complain about anything related to society unless you aren't dying on the floor from malnourishment, beatings and raped to death (or an unborn fetus, pbuh, the holiest of ways to tell a woman what to do).

>private health care plan
>hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars
>PER MONTH
>Doesn't do a damn thing for you 99.999% of the time
>laptop
>Couple hundred bucks
>lasts for years
>virtually required for living in a modernized country
I'm not for socialized healthcare but it is entirely understandable that someone would be able to afford a laptop but not a private health insurance plan.
>>70950975
But if you cant afford healthcare why are you wasting money at starbucks?
poor are poor because they are bad with money
>Families with a household income of less than $25,000 plan to spend $1,393 for the prom, according to Visa's annual nationwide survey on high school's most storied night.
>That's compared to those making more than $50,000, who plan to spend an average of $799

Now get off my lawn lefty fag.
>>70948054
>implying a laptop costs anywhere near what health care costs
Wew lad, you either don't have healthcare (aka you are a moron), your job pays for everything or almost everything (you have no idea what healthcare actually costs), or your mommy is still taking care of you (must be over 18 to browse this Indian designated shitposting board)
>>70951160
Because price vs utility
The price for starbucks is low and the utility is the pleasure of drinking the coffee and the energy boost of the caffeine for relatively low amount of money
meanwhile health care is hundreds of dollars per month and doesn't provide you anything except for risk management
Even if converted each starbucks purchase into contributing to the monthly premium of a private health insurance payment, it still would not cover the expense and you would still be depriving yourself of enjoying a cup of coffee. Starbucks purchases increase the pleasure of day to day living for that consumer and that has real value to them.
If however, the monthly premium for a private health insurance plan was $50 or so, then I would be on your side completely. Because the average monthly starbucks expense would be comparable. Obviously it is depending on how frequently and the average expense per visit.
Basically since the difference in monthly expense and utility is so huge, it just isn't reasonable to use the habit of going to starbuck to disqualify the complaint that health insurance is too expensive.

You keep the parents insurance until 25 m8

>>70951864
>the price for starbucks is low
No it's not
>>70948483
actually even in that case the complaints fall on deaf ears, because conservacucks are mostly spoiled manchildren and/or actual underage children (see: /pol/)
but hey, /pol/ is entertaining. meanwhile, "libtards" like me will continue to grab good jobs, buy property, marry, and have white children, while you queers sob quietly in mommy's basement. the irony is almost too much.
>>70948483
The same way liberals unironically believe you can't complain about society if you're white?
>>70951864
>hur I cant afford healthcare so I am going to waste what little money I have on frivolous garbage
>>70948054
An expensive laptop with separately bought parts.
>>70951160
I think she's a bitch, but fuck I'm not as stupid as you. Starbucks offers free wifi. That laptop could be several years old. She doesn't have a drink sitting near her. Clearly the only thing she spent money on at this moment is the price to get there. She's there because she's unemployed and looking for a job online, or she's just fucking lazy and hanging out at Starbucks for free wifi.
Genetically I inherited no issues from my parents. Socialist healthcare comes out of my pocket. I'm active, healthy and clean. Why do I owe you a fucking thing? Please in your sickly disgusting self caused problems explain why I need to take care of you?
Government mandated diets and exercise plans with jail time punishment for violations when?
>>70952226
>>70951864
>>70951160
Now if it someone owned a sports car/luxury car with a high monthly payment (and high insurance payment) and THEN said they couldn't afford health insurance, that would be something you could use to disqualify their complaint of high health insurance premiums.
Because those are both reoccurring monthly payments in the ranges of hundreds of dollars and there is little added utility between a economy/used car and a sports/luxury car.
>>70952132
>the price for starbucks is low
Depending on how often you go and what you get. But compared to the premium of a private health insurance plan, it is low

For some reason, people seem to think enjoying basic or even some luxury goods is a sin. Healthcare is massively expensive. The only thing these viral stories remind me of is how we all lack empathy.

>Stop justifying people who shop at Starbucks
That isn't my intention. Starbucks is overpriced and should be avoided.
My intention is to point out that it is wrong to dismiss the claim that private health insurance premiums are prohibitively expensive to someone on the basis that they own a laptop and spends money at Starbucks.
An exaggeration of this to prove my point would be saying "Yells about how she can't afford a yacht...in a 5 guys restaurant and owns a flat screen TV"
Private health insurance premiums are very expensive and the utility of having health insurance is extremely low to a young healthy individual who desires health insurance for risk management purposes.

>>70954056
>I dismiss anyone's opinion on politics if they're in Starbucks
>I suggest you do the same
I do, but you are missing the point.
I'm just saying that laptop+starbucks does not equal a health insurance plan.
It isn't as if they got a cheaper laptop and never went to starbucks again that they would be able to then afford the health insurance plan.
I just want people to acknowledge that "holy shit private health insurance plan premiums are expensive as fuck"
Because if you don't get them as a perk of your employment, they can get as bad as a mortgage payment particularly if you have a family on that plan.

A custom laptop is a laptop made from custom parts ie. individually picking separate CPU GPU motherboard etc. These tend to be more expensive than your standard prebuilt that can only run powerpoint and facebook, so it stands to reason that she is not hard for cash.

>The price for starbucks is low
Starbucks is incredibly expensive for a cup of coffee.
A more reasonable counter would be pointing out that the laptop isn't 'custom' and is a normal consumer good.
Many conservatives un-ironically believe that if someone owns a smartphone, computer or TV then they are not 'really' poor. But the truth is that consumer goods like this are cheap, especially if they are bough 2nd hand, they may even be given as a gift. The smart phone I have now was given to me by a friend who was upgrading and it cost me nothing.
The small amount of capital that could be raised by selling you phone, computer or TV would definitely not justify doing so.
>>70954334
Good
And you agree that Starbucks is expensive? Good
Then you agree with me
>>70951219
>Implying that pimp is broke
>>70955008
yes starbucks is expensive compared to possible product substitutes
however starbucks is not expensive when compared to a private health care plan
which is obvious and they should not even be compared.
Which is exactly my qualm about OPs picture.
>>70948054
>using a custom laptop

>>70952244
There in lies the problem. People have no problem spending all of their money on the things they want put don't think they should spend a dime on things they need. It's a shitty attitude to approach life with.
>>70954953
It's not just the goods that do it for me desu
It's the frivolous spending in general
Like complaining about the price of food when you get Starbucks everyday and eat out constantly (I know many poor people who do this)
It's like they don't understand basic economics
I like that this
