Thats an issue I didn't consider, however we have a massive housing shortage in the UK. Every now and then some developer will build new houses but for the most part people buy houses second hand and for good reason.
We have an aging population, in 10-20years most of them will die off and their houses will open up for sale reducing the average house price. If new houses were built at a greater rate the housing market in the UK would crash causing substantial losses for the average citizen.

Generally houses like this are for foreigners or dumb students. During my times looking at student accommodation, the shit the landlords try get away with is ridiculous. Lots of houses that have 8 tiny single bedrooms and one bathroom, being rented out for £4000 a month solely because it's in the popular student area (which has no amenities) and normies have more money than sense. The house I currently live in used to have Chinese students living here, so they didn't really know their rights and the law and stuff, and the landlord had two electricity meters installed - a legal one that they have to use to actually pay the energy companies using a computer thing, and a second one that was illegal and required putting coins. So they basically had to pay twice for electricity, while their naiveté got the landlord extra shekels.
