The country is basically ran by the people who own most of it personally, and did lots of work to put the citizens in their debt. But there isn't really any ideology behind it being shoved down your throat, and if you own something, you tend to want to care for it and want prevent it from decadence. This can of course go very south within a few decades of key people that run shit dying out, but so far so good.
In comparsion to other countries you would call a republic in the context of modern day politics, this is still very much a republic.
I'm pretty sure nobody up there would entertain the idea of not being a republic anymore, except maybe for someone very old and very pro-russian in a very wrong way.
