However, don't discount the fact that it's your mother tongue. You'd need a shitload of work to speak German fluently enough to be as expressive as you can currently be in English.
There's also a running gag about how German has no rules. Cases are not standardized in any way and there's at least one situation where a case change breaks the limits of the Latin alphabet and changes the way the word's syllables are stressed instead of actually changing any of the letters. I also happened to encounter at least one case where a case change meant a change in pitch, which is something that you'd expect from Chinese.
And then there's the formal/spoken German divide. Like the words "umfahren" and "umfahren".
You may note that they are written the same.
That's why one of these is instead "überfahren" in formal German.

I have a bunch of former clanmates still on my friends list in Steam (And Xfire... Oh, wait, the client is dead and I didn't even find out, so I lost contact to those people permanently) and I basically feel like I got betrayed by some. One of the guys is a serious defender of Planetary Annihilation.
You know, that fucking RTS that got released without terrain features. And then the devs asked for more money for an expansion pack that was essentially just a patch that added terrain and functional unit balance.
A while ago I tried to play an RTS online (don't remember which one).

Modern online gaming is poisoned. A good portion of that is probably from MOBA games. Those games are inherently designed for cowards who want the option of shifting blame on their team mates.
It's destroying competitive play. I miss FPS where we had high-speed skill and movement.
Fuck, I just realized that we don't even have RTS anymore. There's about five or so titles that are actively played and also aren't shit. And the newest one is from 2008 or 2009.
In the past we used to curbstomp our opponents as a sign of honor. Now you get shouted at if you don't hold back.

They got cut out because they provide for a sense of community among the players, which increases player retention and allows for organization.
That's bad for games that get re-released every two years, because those games work best when the community dies off quickly after launch.
So it became industry standard.
This might be one of the biggest evils in online gaming history.
That and the fact that basically all games are ported to all systems nowadays, which makes the experience equally shit for everyone.

Man, SC2 is a fucking crime. They had so much potential and then just decided to copy Starcraft 1 and all of its retarded design.
They could have added loads of dimensions to make the game more interesting.
Imagine a physics system like in Earth 2160, where you can punish an LC player for bad base layout by toppling their towers and causing a domino effect.
Or micromanagement more like C&C Generals, the most fun micromanagement on the planet.
Or maybe some ideas from SupCom or RoL or Universe at War.
Imagine some of the Earth 2150 flavor, with transports that can pick up and drop enemy units or the picture-in-picture system.
Right now, I think the barely active RTS are, aside from SC2, CoH (which I hate), C&C Generals, SupCom, WC3 and random flavor of the year.
And maybe Sins of a Solar Empire. But Fuck that game. Their community is pure cancer.
I tried to get replays in the past. They insulted me for "trying to steal strategies".

People playing games nowadays don't dictate trends themselves, but allow themselves to be completely controlled by the monthly artificial hype for the newest shit title.
By now I'm mostly playing retro stuff, since I luckily still have my old consoles from the NES upwards and DOS games. Those online experiences from the late 90s / early 2000s will never come back though.
