I'm actually surprised I was right, it was probably coincidental, because I was not that informed about politics (compared to now) even though I was a senior in college. Specifically in 2008 - I felt totally defeated. I thought Romney was actually going to pull it off. He wasn't my first choice by far - Ron Paul was my first choice, then Herman Cain, then Newt Gingrich - but when it seemed obvious that Romney was going to get it I was pleasantly surprised with how tight he ran his campaign.
Then after that election night when Obama won reelection, I was so defeated I stopped browsing /pol/ and following news and current events for a good year.
