Which translation is best /pol/?
James
The into the trash translation.
People rave about King James Version but it can be a bit difficult to read if you're not used to the style. English Standard Version isn't too bad. New International Version is basic tier, my theologian friend says its a bad translation.

KJV is probably the most accurate, but I prefer to use it for particularly important lines or chapters. ESV whilst less accurate is a more enjoyable daily read.

Revised Standard Version, 2nd Catholic Edition is the single best version there is. Google it; the cover looks badass too.

Which Bible translation does your theologian friend recommend or have a high opinion of?

I prefer the English Standard Version. My stepfather has a PhD and ThD, prefers the American Standard Version.

This website is really good. There's a free study bible under the 'apps' tool thingy as you're reading. It's not the fully study bible, but still pretty good if you're an idiot like myself who has trouble seeing themes and such in stories.
