i have a PPL and the majority of pilots are male
not because there's any bias or any discrimination towards women
but just because women don't actually want to become a pilot
if you're in any large city, pop by your local airfield and go into a flight club, ask if they have "introductory flights"
if so, come back with the needed amount (normally between $150 and $300 depending on the area and airfield) and they'll guide you through it
you get to fly the plane, talk to actual pilots (most have CPLs, quite a few are ex-military) and learn how the thing works
try it, it's absolutely massive fun and we treat everyone based on their character, not their sex. if you're a chick you'll be more than welcome with everything we do, you'll make new friends and all

As recently as the 80s US schools were still (at least in some blessedly unmolested regions) teaching correctly that what they now call 'male' pronouns are actually gender-neutral pronouns.
That's right, folks, English does not have a special case for males. We are completely ordinary and un-special things.
Females are special snowflakes. They get their own pronouns, and furthermore exclusive female-only groups get their own pronouns as well.
Men, eunuchs, asexual creatures, and mixed groups all use generic pronouns instead. Because they are not special like girls are.
