the thing is, alliances work together, nap's follow different paths, but they just agree that they dont cross each other's line, with an alliance you could send your army to other nation to help them, trading knowledge, that's an alliance.
I've considered a lot of options:

If we follow that logic then Allies would be able to give points from their rolls to each other, but that always breaks the game.
Another things i've though about is Allies receiving half of their combined bonus map points (example: country 1 has 10pts and country 2 has 16 => each country receives (10+16)/2 = 13pts), but idk if people would be up for doing math during a game + this is never in the benefit of the stronger country (which i guess is mostly the case in real life).
