why are they so delusional?
>>
>>70899406
Yep I can confirm this, I live near Corning on the border of PA and NY near the center of PA and the only job I found required me to drive 3 hours a day. I did it for a year and gave up 2 months ago. I couldnt take it anymore.
>>
>>70899081
High , the only major employer is Corning glass and you have know someone that can get you in. The facking made my town a boom town and drove renting prices up, and that caused me to quit my job because I couldnt find a place to live. I live with my parents now in upper PA. I really tired to make it work and did it for 1 year, but a long commute killed me. I hate my life and I really want to die now.
>>
>>70899646
>drive 3 hours a day.

just an average commute in DFW. Actually it's probably shorter
>>
>>70899338
I havent seen alot of migrants in all my 15 years in PA, this winter was the first time I have ever seen those fucks.
>>
>>70900048
It was an 1 and 30 mins one way, but 200 k miles because there isn't traffic in PA. Just roads that go no where

Move to Texas or Oklahoma and actually work in the oil industry. In most places (OK especially) cost of living is cheap.

You just have to time it right. Now it's a terrible idea, but once oil prices show an upward trend you can get in, make your money, and get out.
>>
>>70900277
I have an IT degree, but I would really like it in Texas. I am originally from SC. Thanks for the tip, haven't been doing well in months.
>>
>>70900430
Shit, if you've got an IT degree and don't mind not living in a giant city OKC is perfect. I'm positive you can find something here even if it's not oil related.

Tinker AFB in particular is always gobbling up any computer specialists it can get it's hands on. Being in the Air Force helps, but they hire plenty of contractors.

Even if you can't land a job instantly just working full time anywhere (Johnston Controls in Norman is always hiring full time temps) can keep you in a house and non-ramen noodle food for a long while.
>>
>>70899356
Western MA is a shithole.
>>
The only real answer is the loss of manufacturing. If you aren't creating wealth from raw materials you are just shuffling whatever wealth there is back and forth with the gov't taking a slice each time.
>>
>>70899356
They used to have lots of manufacturing
>>
>>70901142
What I've noticed in recent years is that manufacturing is coming back to a degree, but not to where it used to be. Manufacturing centers are moving further south and central.
>>
>>70900903
OK but how do I get a place to live? Should I use Craigslist and find a roommate? Everywhere I go you need to have lived there for a year before applying. This is what's holding me back. Thanks again I am going to write thisbshit down!
>>
>>70899293
5% is just the percentage of unemployed people currently seeking employment. It's actually much worse.
>>
>>70899553
Because most libertarians are just pawn shills for corporations that don't want to pay taxes. I'm a libertarian and I support unions. We're not all Bastiat-worshipping products of incest, I promise.
>>
>>70901769
In OKC itself a roommate is your best bet. Norman is a college town so they rent to out of town folks all the time. Even living in Norman you're only 45 minutes max from downtown OKC.

Worse case you have to buy a small house on an acre of land on the outskirts of Norman for $30K.

Never live in Noble, it's cheaper, and not much further away, but it's full of fuckin methheads.

If only there was a name for someone that believed in free domestic markets but not in outsourcing, mass immigration, banning unions, or wall street debt/the FED.

Black mesa is way the fuck out there where my grandparents live. Boise City is a great base to stay in since it's the only town with a hotel within miles. The diner isn't half bad either.

The panhandle is basically the epitome of buck-fuck nowhere, apart from Guymon.

In central OK (where you would be) theres plenty of lakes and rivers. And if you go further SE theres parks where you can freeze your ass off in sulfurous spring water in the middle fo a 105 degree summer.

Or you can just float 50 miles down a river and drink beer.

Altogether it's a great underrated place to live.
>>
>>70903527
Kenton OK (which observes mountain time for some fucking reason) has a store that will give you a certificate that says you made it to the top and back.

Word to the wise: don't go out there in the middle of summer and run the whole trail, I almost died.

Also take a gun, rattlesnakes are fucking everywhere.

Ever since I saw Denis The Menace 1993 film I have wanted to go to OK city, in the movie Denis's mom is stuck in the OK City airport and I have been curious about that place ever since. She was a beautiful woman, the person who played his mom. Wish she was my wife. Damn

Combination of big corp and unions

Unions were a true necessity at one point in American History.

Big Industry used to have towns built around their factories and workers were payed in "company dollars" to buy the goods and services in the town which was also owned by the company.

Unions helped by giving us fair wages and realistic work hours per week.

There was a time when a company would just fire you because someone else would do it cheaper

However, the power slid the other way to the Unions. Unions wanted the guy who swept up the factory floor to make $20/hr get full benefits and cant be fired without jumping through union hoops.

This caused the mass exodus of American factory jobs to places in China and Mexico where they laugh at unionization of workers.

We are also to blame as consumers. We rather buy an item thats a few bucks cheaper because it comes from China then pay extra and support a local company.

At the end of the day it boils down to greed. Plain and simple.

Rattle snakes follow the sun, in the morning they lay on the rocks facing the East. During sundown they head to Western side of a mountain to bask in the remaining light. Not everyone knows this.

Checked. Still take a fucking shotgun. I went out prairie dog hunting with my uncle up there and shot about 8 of those fuckers. They are fucking everywhere.

I'd walk out in the morning and they'd be on the damn stoop, just blow em to hell.

Plus it's fucking rural OK, nobody is going to look at you funny if you walk around with an arsenal on your back.

Seriously, dont fuck with rattle snakes.
>>
>>70899553
The dying of unions is somewhat tied in with those jobs being removed from the United States
>>
>>70904725
When private unions died the kikes won.

They no longer were forced to pay high wages and out sourced their shit on top of that because lol you will buy it any ways.
>>
>>70904697
Sounds awesome and I don't plan on fucking with any rattle snakes anytime soon. I lived in SC growing up and copper heads and water moccasins are the meanist fucking snakes. They smell like cucumbers. I fucking hate snakes, probably the next thing Obama will make us provide welfare and housing too.
>>
>>70898568
Why manufacture in America where you're paying massive wages and taxes and spending huge amounts of money on complying with tons of state and federal laws when you can manufacture in Mexico for pennies and export to the US for free?
>>
>>70905141
Its true

But I do find the hypocrisy of most of those companies are run by conservatives who love America but rather make $ then employ Americans
>>
>>70905029
To let you on some local voodoo shit. Moore is fucking cursed. I wake up every morning and I thank what ever Indian bones are buried under Norman that we don't get hit by tornadoes.
>>
>>70905318
I don't think it's that simple. A person with Mark Jewberg's wealth could have bought a country or planet with his wealth back in the 1950s and 60s but now it can only purchase a few buildings in CA. Knowing that fact the average CEO making a few million dollars in the Rustbelt can only make a few fuck ups before he goes out of business. So of course he going to bend the rules a little bit. There is an old saying about people, they are only as bad as we allow them to be. If they paid us more we would still be broke. This is probably the end of the modern world, what goes up must come down. Or not
>>
>>70905350
What!? Oh god they said that about our house that was built on an Indian burial ground in Charleston SC growing up! I am still afraid of dark closests! Why do you think I am still up posting on pol.
