Cali is beautiful, there are all kinds of landscapes, there are tons of hot women (yes it's easy to get laid just don't be ugly and creepy) and they have the best weed. Literally the only reason why /pol/ hates my state is because they are too autistic to have a girlfriend and a drug dealer. I recommend checking out Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley if you are into desert at all.
That being said, it's not a renters market, so unless you want to live in Fresno you might want to consider cheaper options in the south which can be just as scenic and still has hot women. I would suggest Louisville as a southern city.

Superior weather/climate than other states. Diversity in geography, urban infrastructure, agriculture, corporate interest, tourism, underworld, etc. Fine bitches in plenty.
But life here is on fucking hard mode.
It's no joke. Everything is more expensive and taxed. Cost of living is significantly higher than many other states. You make it or break it here. You don't get as many chances when you fuck up. You grind and build yourself up from the ground up (unless you're from a rich as fuck family, plenty of those too). Nobody wants to help you, communities with community values are far too few. Yet there are an outstanding amount of people to deal with. You only elevate in life here if you have the ambition and drive required. But there IS opportunity. Plenty of it. Lot's of ways to make a lot of money.
