Trudeau says there's no point decriminalizing it entirely until there's a solid plan to regulate it. Currently there's a panel headed by Julian Fantino which is working out the logistics of regulation. It's going slower than everyone expected, but it's moving forward nonetheless.
They still haven't decided who will regulate it. Either it will be handled by the government, pharmacies, or independent shops. Most likely it will end up being regulated like alcohol is in Ontario. Once this decision is made the wheels really get moving.
I wouldn't expect it to be legally available for at least another 2 years, however.

I live like 5 blocks from a dispensary where I have a card and I can buy a crazy array of products from them, everything from raw weed to shatter, oils, infused cookies, pop, candy, bubble bath. I actually don't want it legalized because I'm afraid mass production will dilute the quality. Right now most of the dispensaries are selling artisan weed, amazing stuff from small well tended crops.
