A friend of my father spent three years in prison after a bad divorce. The state did not fucking give a damn, arguing that it was their case, their charges, and that her testimony of innocence was worthless because "victims often change their statements under duress or threat from the abuser."
His family and most of his friends disowned him completely. The ex admitting she fucking lied on record and under oath meant nothing. She got away clean. He served three years before he was released on some sex offender parole thing, with a mark as a Level 3 kiddy diddly offender. He was forced to move at least a half-dozen times as goodly Christian neighbors would vandalize any property he lived in, throw bricks through his car windows, harass the landlords, etc. Once the neighborhood petitioned to have a bus stop added to their street to force him out. (Can't live within 1000' of where the kiddies stand.) Another woman registered a "day care" out of their house to force him to move. (Illegal to live within 1/4 mile of one.)
He was a welder at some shit shop south of town for a while until Social Jewstice threatened a campaign against the owner.
My dad employed him under-the-table for about a year, since he owned a business, and provided him a place to park the van he slept in.

This is why I quit substitute teaching and abandoned becoming a teacher. Women are insane, but at least they have a semblance of control of their hormones and emotions, thirteen year old girls have none. During the time I was sub. teaching, I saw several girls pull 180's from sweet talking and trying to flirt (they do it because of "authority figure" it would have been suicidal of me to flirt back, plus i'm no pedo) with me, too demonic hellspawns. I realized all it would take is one of them getting mad at me for giving them a bad grade, lying to a guidance counselor and my life would be effectively over. Becoming a teacher as a man is essentially putting your life in the hands of a teenage girl, and hoping she plays nice.

As someone who's currently trying to become a teacher, this is one of my biggest fears. Not that I'd expect to be hit on, but I feel like if you don't keep a cold distance as a male teacher, you're automatically some kind of eventual victim of a teen girl's decision, but that kind of cold distance isn't fun or helpful to students.

The only state that I can name where the school system isn't imploding is Texas. Granted, I haven't gone through and looked at every single state, but a common thread is that if your state accepts all of the federal funds in exchange for following all of the federal guidelines, teaching is a no-go. They won't let the good teachers teach, they won't fire the bad teachers, they have all sorts of fucked up policies for the kids and they'll dump a fuckton of administrative paperwork on you that shouldn't even exist in the first place. And that's just the beginning of how fucked up things are.
