A lot of people say it's due to anal sex, while that may be true, statistically speaking it's because it's a segregated community.

In pharmacy school right now, with aspirations of getting a PhD down the line and get into research. Antibiotic resistance has been something of a passion of mine, because it really could screw over modern living fast if we cannot keep up with the war against the microbes, along with my desire to teach and educate people about diseases.

It is named -1 because it was the first strain discovered, though it is a mutation from -2 which is rampant in africa. HIV 1 has mutated to being almost exclusively bloodborne. Keyword almost. You have a 1 in 1,100 chance of getting HIV 1 from any random unprotected vaginal sex act if you are a strictly hetero non IV drug user male in the US as the concentration of virus in vaginal fluid is extremely low.
