The issue comes when normies get ahold of it. The majority of people on /pol/ are 120+ IQ, and frequently forget just how dumb 100 IQ average people are. A normie, once being presented with evidence for one of the above is very likely to commit the error of throwing the baby out with the bathwater, and come to the conclusion that "because the government lied about some things, therefore the official story in all cases must be bullshit".
In this way, provable conspiracies act as a gateway drug of sorts, providing a segway into first grey-area debatable conspiracies such as:

In these latter cases, there is generally not a whole lot of easily accessible information, and so the beliefs that the normie holds will almost never be backed up by any sort of evidence. He will detest anti-vaxxers because his liberal friends on facebook told him to, and simultaneously believe fluoride is a deliberate poisoning attempt merely because Alex Jones made the assertion and some Infowars boomers repeated it on the forum.
If an individual is particularly retarded or mentally deranged, they will buy into the final tier and become flat earthers or believers in reptilians, though even the dumb are generally loathe to believe in something that blatantly contradicts everyday experiences and extremely basic logic.

Yes. Some, like Alex Jones, are controlled opposition. They give out a few tidbits of truth here and there to get you hooked; Then afterwards they spout some ridiculous flawed bullshit to discredit themselves and any of their followers.
For example:
Day 1. They'll get some exclusive story on a specific corruption case.
Day 2. They'll run a rant about how evil black helicopters are coming to shove your ass in FEMA coffins.
