I hate the fact that the consensus is that Hitler was pure evil or the worst human being on earth etc .Most people in the world believe that ,even if they agree in the end that it doesn't make much sense.That's pure propaganda that they never truly question.Another example is how the opinion that the nazis made lamps,buttons and soaps out of people still survives. They could throw it at you in an argument for the travesties of war, but when you ask them :''Do you truly believe that the nazis skinned people and went through all this trouble to make lamps and buttons?'' they almost certainly will back away.
Back to the main point about ''pure evil'' hitler. First of all it takes the blame away from all the german people. It's like Hitler was a demon who mesmerized millions to go to war. People even think that everyone was against him even in those days. More importantly, it's the shallowest and most ignorant understanding of WWII, a war which pretty much shaped Europe and we still feel its aftermath today.
