To my understanding they were made in the 60s and 70s and back then they were sold in the USA, but American taste changed somewhere in the late eighties. Basically they are snicker bars without peanuts. I also remember hearing the peanuts saved them money somehow, because you needed less Coco beans to make the bars but the weight of peanuts made up for it. Idk
