Why are Bollywood stars so much more better looking than the average Indian? Of course it's the case everywhere that a country's celebrities are more attractive than their common people but the difference in India seems particularly stark.

Nope not really. I am an southern Indian and I have a skin color similar to Obama's. Not saying that southern Indians are white, but we are definitly not as dark as the night.
I'd guess that it's mostly you seeing a very tiny selection of their most attractive people. Which in a country of over a billion people is an even smaller proportion of the population than you'd get from seeing western celebrities. Thus the outliers lie even further from the average.
The caste system could plausibly account for some disparity too, but I don't know enough about it to say.
