Even if Hillary is indicted and it's just Trump vs Johnson vs Republican, the next president has a 0% chance of being an establishment republican. The purpose of the brokered convention is to let Hillary win as she serves the interests and policies of the republican establishment.
Ryan will be saved for 2020 or something, it'd be a waste to destroy him now when they can just run Kasich or Cruz to get Hillary in.

Also, I don't see this happening. Even without a third party run, being the guy to steal a nomination from Trump is political suicide. Both for getting people angry and because Trump would entirely focus his cannons on the guy. The news stations won't just stop airing Trump if he doesn't get it. Ryan is still relatively young. He'll wait till next cycle, at the least.
