I didn't even believe about it but then made a Google search and noticed that autocomplete disappears when I type "Ted Cruz Zo". Even two letters in and everything disappears, kind of what happens when you search for other sensitive terms, or porn or whatever.
Typing "any other people name Zo", even "Donald Trump Zo" completes to Zodiac and sometimes to Zodiac Killer so it is clearly a move from Google that's preventing that particular search from happening, only on Ted Cruz.
