Not to defend the typical leftist, who is indeed inconsistent and ignorant on the point - but this isn't correct. When you oubreed you *do* increase genetic diversity.
You can even see this visually, pic related. Girls here are full sisters, same mother, same father.
The combined diversity of the parents are represented in their offspring, however much or little they have to give.
A population formed from mixing all the worlds groups together would not be a bland monotone, it would be very diverse, both under the skin and even in easily noticed visual terms.

I think like most things organized groups of humans do, it's a 2-pronged distortion process. You take an ordinary, non-offensive platitude like "we shouldn't kill each other due to unimportant cosmetic differences, silly traditions, or unprovable theistic beliefs" and run it against:
1.) The group of people who strawman the statement out of a lack of legitimate arguments against it
AND
2.) The group of people who look at the obvious strawman arguments and think they're accurate representations of reality
Over time, the simple truism we started with becomes 2 new positions:

Yeah getting rid of the welfare system (not reforming it) would help slow down the immigration which would be a good thing, don't get me wrong. But if you could get the USA and gang to quit blowing countries up and making all these refugees (as in Syria, Libya, etc.) in the first place that would help a lot too.
It's two different points though. Normal levels of immigration are not bad for Europe, they are actually good for it. Large groups of refugees fleeing from war and destruction (and with various less savory characters inevitably disguising themselves and trying to pass through with them) is a very different thing.
And victim-blaming the refugees is illogical. They are just regular people trying to survive.

Sweden's done very little (although lately cooperates so closely with NATO it's probably been involved to some degree) but the US and European allies have certainly encouraged instability in Somalia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan (among many other places) greatly.
Somalia is an excellent example, if you actually investigate the history there you'll see what I mean easily enough.
