How many of you /pol/acks did join political party just to get benefits ? and what party was it ?
What benefits do you got from joining a political party? Free snacks and beer in the weekend or something?
I would rather work for my own food thank you.

Here in Wallonia, if you want to work in the civil administration and climb up the ladder, you basically have to be a registered PS (socialist party) member

Here, in Croatia, depending on which party is ruling, if you join it, you will get, for example, job, and getting it here is very hard

Wish I could say that

And it is...I myself didn't do that (join party), but it's very "popular" to do that, because we're struggling with high-rate unemployment

I think you should go for it, swallow your pride, get a good job, then get the heck out of there, if you want to.
No reason to let your pride make decisions for you.
I was a Democrat once. I got a form letter in the mail. Then I quit.
More importantly, I signed up for the draft and social security. Quite contrary to federal law, I am frequently identified by my SSN. I didn't really have to sign up to get one, but now I'm tracked like Holocaust Jew taking the easy way out.

I wish I joined a political party back in my day because the networking and accesses you get from it are far superior than trying to make a living on your own.
But when I was a kid I didn't know how much weight politics actually have on everything.

There's more...employers are also members of parties, so they blackmail workers to vote for those parties on elections...there were cases where employers took worker's ID cards to vote "in the name of them"
I got 4 more years to finish college, so I'll see what will situation be like then

I joined SDA i.e. main Bosniak party + I identify as a Serb. I've worked on 4 jobs already for no reason other than filling mandatory quotas
