>implying the US of A will ever be successfully invaded

I'd understand if there would be actual enemy troops marching down the street, but why rebuild if it's just going to be shot with long range missiles?

They'd be doing us a favor anyways

tarp was bush, not obama

are you even old enough to remember 2008?
>>
honestly /pol/ has gotten so bad that in four years i expect people to be posting that obama caused the global financial crisis that took place before he was even president

Defend your country. Make it easier to transport supplys. Keep coms up to prevent shatering of the nation.

>>70814676

Its retardet not too.
>>
>>70814676
they should. but it should be private infrastructure. when you consent to higher public spending the contracts get awarded in crony capitalist arangements. the project doesnt need to be valuable or to function for the constituents. just to be built. australia currently has this problem with our epic tunnel bypass projects. MORE ROADS. but cities dont work this way. the profit motive is more important to pursue because a dollar is a figurative pat on the back for doing a good job. it is the exchangeable reward for creating value for your community. simply pooling your money into infrastructure means you get shit tier projects that dont function and dont extract the maximum value from the input capital.

Becuz bureaucracy, politics, MIC, lobby, debt, fear of credit bubbles (Despite US have some seriously ageing infrastructure), different competing interest groups and the free market

>they don't know what ww3 means
>>
>>70814676
Because we need that money for welfare. Welfare is more important than infrastructure. We need to tax the rich more to rebuild our infrastructure so that we can give that money to people who choose not to work instead of rebuilding our infrastructure.

Lots of reasons.

>#1)
We already did most of it. People really take for granted how colossal the US interstate system is. It already reaches most important places, and if you want to get to some town out in the boonies, the county (or a business) has usually already built a nice little 2-lane road. We're at the point now where building a bridge to shorten people's commutes to and from wherever won't be economically savvy for decades.

>#2)
We don't have the money. Lots of money goes to maintaining the interstates, and we already have too much interstate. Between that, the military, and gibsmedats, new projects don't really make sense.

>#3)
Don't forget airlines. Never forget airlines. It's the reason commuter trains suck in the United States. Their lobby is way too strong. They don't want people to be able to travel somewhere they used to have to fly to for less money or faster. It's just bad business for them--and actually, the US, because the airlines are a gigantic fuckhuge portion of our economy. For instance, American Airlines alone had 47 billion in revenue.

Obama voted for TARP while in the Senate and chose to expand it while President. Worse, he and Democrats passed the "American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009" and made it part of the baseline government spending, guaranteeing increased spending for years to come in a way TARP could not. Of the ARRA, only 3-8% actually went to infrastructure depending on how broadly you define "infrastructure".

Wrong see
