Trump's policies are going to just get us into another economic crash. Deregulation of wallstreet is what got us into this mess and Trump wants even MORE deregulation.

You mean over-regulation and the government bailing out wallstreet and printing fiat money is what got us into this mess and Trump is the only one who wants to pry the governments hands off of big business.

I'm counting on it. Trump's policies will lead to an inert military collecting pay checks while the country experiences massive starvation.

And it's necessary to get the train back on the tracks. I'd rather no one died, but people have been asleep at the wheel for so long regarding fiscal policy, a correction is going to hurt.

We're setting bones here and we have to rebreak that mass before it can properly heal.
>>

Running a bit of a deficit isn't bad. Republican policitians run deficits because they cut taxes. Then when the budget the next year comes in short they have political leverage to cut spending.

It's a tactic.

>it's possible for people to know bad things are inevitable but necessary
I'm guess your command of the english langauge is lacking, or you're incapable of taking a pause to comprehend what someone said.

Protectionist and isolationist policies will lead to a historic economic downturn. Every country that has attempted both thus far has been categorically damaged by them. They just don't work. You can work toward loosening toward a free trade situation, but you cannot suddenly clamp it the other way. It doesn't work like that.

There's going to be all this prime real estate to build and move to the states for corporations, but he won't be in power long enough for anyone to actually see the benefit. And we'll have some other cuck faggot in the seat in time to eliminate anything he does and return us to the downward trajectory. Our only hope is that everyone capable of running in the next cycle just happens to die before they can, and a third party gains prominence.

Low wages coupled with less tax burden results in a neutral net outcome and a more competitive local job market.

It's not that hard. You pay less in tax, the milk costs less, you get a lighter paycheck. No difference now as before other than shit's cheaper and you need less money for the same services.

His policies will lead to isolation. And I like isolationism. You charge countries for military protection, they'll opt for no military protection. They're going to decline to pay for our military. They just are. If not, they're going to have to cut their budgets to afford our military and I doubt they can entice europeans to be ok with paying americans with their taxes. So troops will be recalled and otherwise do little other than maintain or camp out people that paid their protection money.

>it worked for china
It's hard for it to fail when the current state was already utter starvation and massive genocide of political dissidents. Way to cherry pick outcomes though. Consider context. The US is in a completely different situation than communist china was. Like i said, you can work toward a looser market, but you cannot do the opposite. Shit's going to break. Then when the dust settles you can start again from a restrictive market and loosen it up to appeal to businesses.

Economic policy takes many years to have a tangible effect on the economy.

Most people are entirely ignorant of economics. They presume that current economic conditions are a result of current government. The reality is that it is a result of past government.

For example, here in Canada our economic situation is decent compared to what it was in 2008. It still isn't wonderful by any stretch of the imagination, but compared to the rest of the Western world we're doing fine. This is a result of the Harper government (who had a masters degree in economics) keeping our economy stable. Now the Trudeau government is in power and things seem to be good.... but this has absolutely nothing to do with Trudeau. In fact, the policies enacted by Trudeau so far threaten to hurt our economy in the future. But, since he is following a stable period created by a conservative government, the ignorant Canadian public believes that he is helping the economy.

Basically what I'm saying is that the public is so fucking ignorant of how economics work that they do not give credit where it is due. Liberals get into power and fuck things up and push the country into poor conditions. Voters then turn to conservatives during hard times. Conservatives clean up the mess the liberals created. Voters then get complacent during good times and turn to weak liberal governments who make them feel good. This is the political cycle.

>China doesn't need american consumers

America buys billions of dollars worth more of goods from China than China buys from them.

Sure, they don't "need" America if they're willing to go through an enormous and immediate economic crisis that destroys the one-party state.

>>70784157
>Relate it to all chinese world trade. How much of their GDP is american money, and how much longer can america pay that portion? Have some sense.

You're a fucking retard.

>good for low income
>bad for upper class
It's bad for the upper upper class. We're talking a fraction of a top 1% upper class.

It's good for medium size businesses that can't afford to relocate to another country for better taxes and regulations. It's good for competition, basically. Bad for monopoly.

When jobs are outsourced that leaves less jobs here in the country.

When jobs are given to illegal immigrants that leaves less jobs here in the country.

Less jobs means more competition for those jobs.

More competition means less value for those jobs.

It's simple supply and demand.

The numbers on the paycheck don't mean a damn thing if the dollar isn't worth shit.

Regan actually created a laissez faire economy that was growing very healthily.

However, due to politics and timing, Clinton rode the success of Regans policy and got bonus points for the .com boom.

This is nothing but Marxist propaganda you failure.

>china enters a trade deficit
And that relates to the american system bottoming out, how?

Like the last time this was done, prices went up, voters threw a shitfit, and eventually companies left or went under.

China will withstand the downturn because we have much more to lose than they do and they want to maintain the status quo that's benefiting them. You don't give up just because projections would show a decline. They have a system they're benefiting from, they're not going to play nice just cuz. It's a matter of two people holding their breath and the american economy has much smaller lungs currently and they know it. It's the same shit OPEC tried to drive american frakking out of business.

Added; one can argue that the build up of the military destroyed the USSR and more private contractors were probably working, creating more jobs in the private sector.

Further, nothing sells better than the improvement of survival. -the militaries only business strategy.

Actually most of Trump's policies are surprisingly liberal.

Who was talking about the American system? You asserted that China doesn't need America, and we all pointed out that it manifestly does.

>China will withstand the downturn because we have much more to lose than they do and they want to maintain the status quo that's benefiting them.

American voters would be pissed off and vote Trump out. The Chinese people would revolt. The one party state has enough trouble keeping the lid on people's desire for democratic reform. Without economic goodies to bribe them with, the state will not survive.

>You don't give up just because projections would show a decline. They have a system they're benefiting from, they're not going to play nice just cuz.

China doesn't have a choice. They'll either nut up and deal with it, or they'll hold their breath and kill themselves.

>It's a matter of two people holding their breath and the american economy has much smaller lungs currently and they know it. It's the same shit OPEC tried to drive american frakking out of business.

Toppest of kek. First of all, OPEC simply tried to drive out American business by overproduction. They crashed the price of oil, and it worked in the short term because fracking is more expensive than traditional oil. But it's not a viable solution because OPEC countries' budgets depends on far larger oil revenues than they're getting now. The policy works, but the reduced revenue can't sustain the welfare state they use to bribe their population away from revolt. Kind of like China really.

The American economy is far more resilient than China's economy is. Don't try to pretend it's not. America is a fully industrialized first world nation with an enormous bounty of natural resources and technological expertise. China is partially industrialized at best, with a demographic situation as stable as an eight foot tall stack of oreos and a one horse economy entirely built on selling to one consumer.

If America cut ties with China, they'd enter economic shock as their corporations rushed to try and cross the Pacific again and the people in general faced short term spikes in the prices of cheap goods.

On the Chinese side, the state would collapse. Combined with the unstable yuan, the loss of American demand would cripple their economy and send the country into deep recession. The sudden loss of economic prosperity would combine with the discontent with the Chinese one party dictatorship and it would be Chinese Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo.
