>Ted Cruz's actual campaign strategy is to steal the nomination from Trump undemocratically so he can move onto the general election where he will need Trump supporters to vote for him if he has any chance of winning
Did he think this through? Cruz is retarded if he actually thinks he's going to get nominated with less votes and not have loads of Trump supporters either stay home, vote Trump anyway or vote Hillary to spite Cruz.
>>
>>70771156

Do you burgers understand your electoral system?

Trump will get a large number of the votes by the American general population.

The winner is chosen by electoral college, of which there are 530ish people or something like that. Your vote doesn't count per se, you are picking who the electoral college gets to pick, you aren't choosing the president directly.
>>
>>70771471
This is primary season, silly. The election isn't until November. OP is talking about the GOP nomination, there will be a convention where the delegates show up for a lot of sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll. That's why it's in Cleveland.
>>

Electoral college is in charge.

Your awful two party both sides of the coin system is a massive sham.

I know that the "primary" doesn't mean anything legally and I fail to see why anyone would care about it, since the people who make the decision in November can be bought by jews with blackmail or a few thousand $.
>>

>Did he think this through?

No, Cruz was never in it for the long game, his New York comments support that.

The GOP nomination was supposed to be Jeb, but he was Trumped. None of the backups could possibly be put in place so they now are forced to run with Cruz who luckily has some actual support from the bible people.

It's a fucking joke that he'd get anywhere in a general election, but perhaps the plan is to give Cruz the nomination, dump all his shady shit and just give the presidency to Hillary.
>>
>>70771156
Anybody with two eyes can see the elephant in the room. Cruz supporters hate Trump supporters, and Trump supporters hate Cruz supporters. It's a divide that deepens everyday. Neither side will be there for the other side if they win the nomination. Not completely, anyway. Enough holdouts will stand firm to cost the election.

You think to yourself, "Why don't Cruz supporters see this and adapt??" The answer is because they know they're going to lose. They do not care. They just want to stop Trump from taking over the GOP culture and turning it into a nationalist party. They'd rather lose with Cruz than become nationalist. They're cuckservatives and they will never, ever stop being that.
>>
>>70771156
Trump would go independ
>>
>>70773397
This. Win or lose, Trump is exposing the true dichotomy: globalism vs nationalism. Even if Hillary wins this, our cause will grow stronger until 2020. If denied, we'll eventually just shoot them all and fix this manually.
>>
>>70771156
You cannot steal a thing that does not belong to anybody.

You CAN work very hard over the course of a year to identify delegates to a state convention, however. You can also not do that work, understand you're going to lose, and blame something other than your own incompetence.
>>
>>70773397
The answer is actually that Cruz supporters support Cruz for president.
>>
>>70771156
neocons and neoliberals are the same.

The GOP is perfectly okay remaining controlled opposition and giving the win to hillary
>>
>>70771156
cuckservatives want hillary to win I thought we'd been over this

Deadline for running as an independent is already passing
I'm pretty sure if he had the paperwork ready TODAY he couldn't be on the ballot in all 50 states. If he waits til after or just before the Convention he won't be able to be on most of them because of sore loser laws.
>>
>>70774194

You won't be v& because the authorities agree with you.

Which is why, ironically, the only chance the Republicans have is if Trump wins.

Trump can do something Cruz can't - appeal to moderates: 40% or more of voters this election cycle are going to be registered as Independents and so far Trump is the only Republican candidate whose demonstrated a genuine ability to get support from moderate Independents and even moderate Democrats.

Cruz's wing of the Republican Party - the evangelical, far right, social conservative - is a dead end for the GOP. If they keep backing that horse they're going to have to push themselves further and further out towards the fringe until they drive their own party into irrelevance.

But Trump offers a way out and a way forward for the GOP - offering a center-right conservative platform that carries none of the baggage of evangelical social conservativism and appealing to voters who're sick of the Democratic Party's slow descent into socialism and social justice.

If Trump is the nominee and he learns to temper his rhetoric and shift his message towards the center in the General Election, maybe even do something as ballsy as picking an Independent or Democrat as a VP... he WILL start leeching voters away from the Democrats, while still maintaining a near-stranglehold on the majority of sensible center-right Republicans. If Cruz wins, moderates will stay home or vote Democrat in droves.
>>
>>70771156
Chalk me up for staying home. If Cruz actually won IE got more delegates than Trump, I'd vote for him, but that isn't going to happen. I'm not going to vote a thief.
>>
>>70771156
Ted Cruz's candidacy exists to get Hillary Clinton elected. He is easily the worst performing of all Republican candidates in every general election matchup against Hillary.

Lyin' Ted doesn't realize it, because he's a fucking moron, but his only purpose is for the establishment to push him as a false alternative to Hillary to ensure her coronation.
>>
If Trump doesn't get the nomination, I'm going to vote Democrat just to spite the GOP.

Fuck the GOP
>>
>>70775880
>Trump is the only Republican candidate whose demonstrated a genuine ability to get support from moderate Independents and even moderate Democrats.

Kasich is the biggest RHINO in election history. He'd pretty much just be Hillary/Obama 2.0, with giant tax cuts and loopholes for all his big corporate buddies.
>>
>>70776123
That's what they want. Just write in Trump.
>>
>>70776208
This - /pol/'s Samson Option should be starting a write in campaign.

>Trump blowing out the GOPe, the Dems, and the commies in one fell swoop
Stop I can only get so errect
>>
>>70776123
Honestly, if he doesn't get it everything is turbofucked so the best option is to vote for Globalist Shillary.
Kill the GOP and hope something powerful rises from the ashes.

It's up to the GOP at this point. They've put the gun in their mouth.
>>
>>70775828
There's still a bit of time.

Deadline for signatures in most states isn't until after the convention. Texas, Indiana, Illinois, New Mexico, and North Carolina are the only states with a cutoff before the start of July and I think of those five, Texas is the only one that's coming up soon (first or second week of May IIRC).

It's totally doable.

No but she and Donald did.
>>
>>70778558
I don't think that. I know from polling that Cruz will get a considerable amount of that support base Trump enjoys which generally came from within the Republican leaning tent. I never assumed he would retain that "all important" Webb vote that amounted to a 1% candidate for the Democrats.
>>
>>70771156
You realize that republicans that don't support Trump will never vote for him either, right? There are more that don't support Trump than there are that support him.
>>
>>70774896
> gets the nomination stole from him
> stole

fucking trumptards
>>
>>70771156
Cruz doesn't think he'll be nominated. He thinks he'll get a deal with the GOPe by spoiling Trump and they'll either make him attorney general or something if whatever GOPe stooge that gets picked in the brokered convention somehow wins the election (lol) or he'll get to be the chosen one with the cuck money behind him in 2020 like Jeb was while still claiming he's anti-establishment.
>>
>>70779944
Republicans that vote for establishment candidates will hold their nose and vote for whoever has an R next to their name every goddamn time. They've been doing it for decades. Look no further than Romney if you want proof.
