Rigged by the cuck himself
>>
>>70767718

The election came down to Florida, and it was close enough that there was a recount. We spent time talking about possibly misleading ballots and a bunch of other nonsense. Bush told Gore not to worry about it, that Jeb said that he'd won, and Gore said something like, "Your little brother is not the final word in this election."

Gore wanted a recount, but only in the counties that he felt confident he'd win. The Supreme Court ordered that you can't pick and choose your recount spots and ended it, making GWB the President.

If Gore had said to recount the whole state we might have ended up with a different answer, but probably not. People just liked W a little bit more.
>>
Cruz was on the team that helped rig it.
>>
>>70767718

The audit done by every major paper in FL showed that Bush won by the ways Gore wanted to count and Gore won the way Bush wanted to count. There were 9 different methods and Bush won 5/4. Bush won, get over it.

Are you stupid?
>>
>>70769655
No, we -would- have ended up with a different answer. No question about it, Al Gore won the popular vote and would have been President but for the Supreme Court and Bush's allies in Florida.
>>
>>70767718
jews
>>
>>70770332

Popular vote was a 500,000 difference in an election of over 100,000,000 people. Every time you recount votes you get a slightly different answer. If we'd recounted the country who knows what the final tally would be? The popular vote count isn't real or official.

>Florida 'recounts' make Gore winner
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2001/jan/29/uselections2000.usa
>>
>>70767718
Racial minorities couldn't figure out how to use the ballots
The election was closer than ever before
It came down to whoever won Florida, wins the country
Unfortunately Florida was just as close as the rest of the state (~300 votes)
They counted North Florida counties (conservative) first, then moved towards Miami (blacks, Hispanics)
TV Networks declared Bush the winner
Courts correctly decided that if you're too stupid to punch the whole out all the way, you're too stupid to vote
Bush wins
>>
Al Gore got more actual votes. He won the "popular" vote. Bush won because the electoral college. Florida was the last to be counted, and they shit it all up for a week so Bush would win the state and the election. This is when i realized people's votes don't count. Everyone that doesn't know this yet will when the GOP nominates Paul Ryan in the convention. Then there will be revolutionary war 2, err i mean just a shitposting storm on /pol/. Nobody is going to do anything even though they should.

>But how exactly did bush win

Because he got the most votes.

Literally only a blind ideologue will say otherwise. Say what you want about the continued relevance of the electoral, but Bush won Florida fair and sqaure. Then Al Gore tried to fuck around with selective "recounts" and the Scotus (in a 6-3 decision) said fuck you, you can't do that.

Gore is a dumb fuck. If he had just campaigned in Tennessee he would have won.
>>
Flordia gov. JEB! and secretary of state Katherine Harris purged eligible and likely democratic voters before 2000, and stopped a recount when it started to favor Gore. Eventually the SCOTUS stepped in, stopped the recount for good, and gave the state to Bush.

That's what i think. They told kasic to stay in as a spoiler, saw that it wasn't working. Did the ted cruz shit in colorado. Once they get it to go to convention, they can put whoever they want in. They'll say, "we need someone who we think can win" or some bullshit. They can't control trump or cruz, they'll put in ryan. He'll do whatever they tell him. Remember when he "wasn't running for house speaker", and "wasn't going to accept the job"? What's he doing now? He's house speaker and running campaign ads. Even though he "isn't running"

gore won the popular vote, bush won the electoral. was the first time i realized how brilliant that piece of legislature was. the founders of this country had the foresight to create an electoral college to protect from a massive influx of foreigners attempting to come here and vote to change this great country to the shit-holes they came from. essentially, the electoral college acts like a buffering system and it worked beautifully.

Have you ever heard of the Internet of Things?
>>
>>70775787
No. What the fuck is this gay ass qanda shit? Make your case
>>
>>70767718

It was a very close vote, there were some ballots that weren't very clear (as far as who you wanted to vote for) and there were some ballots that weren't completed properly.

Gore wanted to recount votes (especially in the counties where he felt he could do well) and Bush pushed hard that there wasn't enough time for all sorts of recounts and that he was the winner.

Gore may or may have not won the election in Florida, but they never recounted all the votes statewide.
>>
>>70775935
So the basic idea of the Internet of Things is to take every device, appliance, machine, whatever, that you own and connect it to the internet. This extends to medical implants, and even COOL SHIT like google glasses, or occulus or whatever the next cool thing is. But the real idea here is that now everything is networked.

The real idea here is transhumanism. What is transumanism ultimately about? It's about placing a 3rd party between your senses and your body and your motor controls and reality. And it's all sold do you on cheating old age, or medical conditions, or death, or sex, or whatever your pleasure is -- that's the key to making you want it. Being cool. Being better. The fountain of life.

In the end, what happens is that the network now mediates every single thing and completely controls you because you have become utterly dependent on the network. This is kind of like globalism and free trade -- now you need the system that controls you in order to survive.
