Nothing, crusades in Europe were very succesfull. Muslims removed in Southern Italy and Spain. Heretics removed in Baltic area and southern France. Muslims were lucky to have survived the first crusade, a twist of fate would have seen the end of Islam as a meaningful force in the world in the 11th century. Most crusades therafter in the holy land were basically prestige projects instead of united efforts against Islam.

There's no good reason for the Crusader states collapsing or waning given their wealth relative to the Arabs outside of the Levant. There's a partial exception for Egypt but they were having a rough go of it at the time, and the Arabs west of the Levant were not even self governing.
