I work in the fashion industry. Over the last 4 years literally all them men who work around me have either been fired, quit, or are gay. Women have been given ALL the promotions in three years. Not a single male has seen a single raise. Despite this the top sellers in all departments that still have men are men with the exception of women's intimates. They make more money because they hit the fucking ground and try to get shit out the door. The highest paid female where I work has received promotions due to nepotism and no longer does anything other than speculate as to the work ethic of the staff based on the one time a week that she sees them.

To get these statistics, the government compared to average female salary to the average male salary. It doesn't account for the type of position, hours worked, the fact that most women stay home to raise babies, etc.
In fact, single, unmarried women make roughly 8% more than their male counter parts (all things bring equal). No lawyer in their right mind would bother suing, because a 5 minute Google search tells even the dumbest paralegal that there is no viable case.

So the female child care worker and elementary school teacher are being compared to the male doctor and nuclear technician. Since there are more males in higher paying industries males overall get paid more. Males also work more overtime, have more seniority, ask for more raises, and take less time off than women.

This is not how it works, and thats why its a bad argument.
Wage gap exists, probably very small when you have everything else equal i.e. hours worked, qualifications, experience etc.
But thats because men simply ask for more as they're willing to risk more due to them being men.
If women hate the wage gap they should go for STEM fields, I'm a software engineer and maybe met 2 or 3 girls in the last year who were serious about this and worked in the field other than being useless project manager, product owner or some shit.
Women always go for the easy well paid jobs while men are willing to go for the harder ones which on the long term pay off as you become an expert with very little competition.
This is almost true for every area, I know very few female experts in any areas, they mostly love to be mediocre and get paid well because they're still young and attractive and thats the main reason (a privilege they hate to talk about).
I know a girl with a CCNA certification and she earns much more than anyone I know from my age group. And thats in a sector which I hear a lot of bitching about i.e. its supposed to be super misogynist or some shit.
