It's real, but it's not happening as rapidly as the liberal activists like to pretend.

We need to make an effort to slow or stop it, but bullshit like "carbon credits" isn't going to do jack shit. The only way forward is a massive overhaul of all available renewable energy sources - wind, solar, hydro, and uranium fission.

From what I'm getting, it seems that it doesn't matter. I think in summary, it suggests that CO2 levels contribute to water vapor which is the significant heat trapper in the atmosphere. However, models that predict warming off this trend have been way off (too high), so proving this correlation has been impossible, to the point that it might not even be an issue, in which case we may have been wrong about significant warming all along.

Dear OP, I used to believe it was both natural and being accelerated by humans.

I have studied both biology and chemistry, and physics.

Recently I have come to doubt everything.

Not sure op, i do know it's getting worse and the supposed political people trying to do something about it, like our president - have actually done just as much globally with deals to increase it, and they have to know this.

I will say, over the areas taken over by ISIS the air and atmosphere, and global warming have improved. Because of the removal of a lot of people by death.

I also think a lot of these elite people worried about global warming, would support depopulation.

It's an example that the earth's climate changes. Did smart plants plan it? It just happened. It's evolution at work.
>>
>>70733585

Global warming isn't even even a thing anymore.

In the 70s they thought it was fucking global cooling.

They changed it to "global climate change" which is just neutral as fuck.

"Ay guys sometimes the climate on earth changes."

No shit Sherlock.

Carbon emissions are bullshit too. They abide by the Law of Diminishing Returns, so the freakout over carbon is sort of ludicrous.

If you are basing your "man man global warming" theory based on the rise in CO2 Emissions, the rate of change of the temp would decrease with increase emissions.

Almost all data shows any rate of increase in global temp to correlate in almost a 1:1 ratio with CO2 Emissions, when you should expect 1:(1+N) ratio.

Fucking water vapor is worse for the environment than carbon.
>>

Yeah when i looked at some of the peer review study blocking scientists from disproving and discrediting study's and research to disprove global warming, i thought it was fishy.

>Where Does /pol/ Stand On Global Warming?

It's natural, humans have very little, if any, affect on the Earth's ecosystem at large.

Back in the 60s, scientists working for oil companies started to notice that Earth naturally warms and cools in long cycles, and that another warming cycle was coming up. Oil exec/banker/rich people types kept this secret, and setup all kinds of "green" think tanks and other companies that receive TAX PAYER money to "help the environment"

The links are all easy to find. The same rich assholes who own majority shares in BP/Exxon are also the chairmen of well funded global-warming groups. Governments routinely hand out billions to these companies for "solutions" to global warming.

If someone wasn't profiting from all this global-warming nonsense, then why are people constantly shilling for or against it? Not just on /pol/ but the entire media from movies to news. Global-warming is a billion dollar industry.

It's a fucking political narrative only backed by bland ""science"", i.e. shitty computer simulations working under cherrypicked variables and leaving out hundreds of other ones, bloating the effect CO2 has in average global temperature so these variables, conveniently arranged, get to the conclusion they really want to get: climate change is anthropogenic in nature. It's a combination of wishful thinking and political censorship.

Remember those extremely complex simulations with thousands of variables done with supercomputers so they get to "predict" the economy? Remember how they are known to obstreperously fail over and over again and how economics is ridiculed as a science for it? Well, this is pretty much the same but every failure in the prediction takes like a hundred years to notice instead of a decade or two so we'll be misled forever if we let ourselves be fooled by pop science tier conclusions extracted from experimental simulations of a ridiculously complex system we don't even know all the variables of.

I would elaborate a little more but I'm slightly drunk and can't compute further. The picture attached is the """"correlation"""" of levels of CO2 in the atmosphere and the global average temperature for the last 600 million years. There are many variables that affect global temperature, and CO2 ain't one.

I used to believe it too.

I have written research papers on it, and geo-engineering. I once argued destroying the damaged Ozone to create an artificial one using sulfur geo-engineering.

The whole point of science is that we change our opinions based on the best information. And i do not think we can get the beat information currently on this subject.

It is one of those things, that trying to disprove or discredit scientifically gets political, and gets a scientist fired.

And that alone should raise some flags, when something becomes political.

The only argument anybody has for climate change is muh 97%, which is appeal to authority.

All we know is that a majority of the climate change propaganda graphs only date back to the early 1800s and that Al Gore, the inventor of the internet, used Global Warming and the intro to The Day after Tomorrow as a cheap way to gain political status.

EVEN IF anthropogenic global warming was real, the notion that it must inherently be bad is horseshit.

Fun fact: atmospheric CO2 levels are at one of the lowest points they've been at in hundreds of millions of years. Volcanoes are overwhelmingly the chief source of greenhouse gases, particularly CO2, that gets recycled back into the atmosphere. As the earth's core has been cooling, and thus volcanic activity has been on a steady decline, we continuously get less and less base level CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere. Before the industrial revolution, we were literally less than 100 PPM away from having so little CO2 in our atmosphere that plants would be physically incapable of photosynthesis, and there would have almost certainly been the greatest mass extinction on the planet's history as the PPM number of CO2 in the atmosphere continued to fall. Plants even now are half-starved, which is why you can massively increase yield by pumping the exhaust from generators into your greenhouse.

Greenpeace founding member Dr. Patrick Moore and others have went into this quite a bit, if you faggots bothered to research things you had opinions on.

Earth climate is cyclical, alternating between ice ages of varying intensity and periods of high dryness and heat, CO2 is harmless and actually good for plants, since they feed on it, it's proven that high concentration of carbon increases and fasten plant growth and slightly cools temperatures.

I believe we are accelerating it. i also believe how ever, that it is a natural phenomena. the earth warms and cools over long periods of time. there have been periods where half the earth was covered in ice and periods where there was no ice at all.

the real stigma behind global warming is the idea that it is causing a mass extinction. and yes it is causing some animals to go extinct (like the polar bear) but cutting down forests, fishing and human expansion in general has already done more than global warming would ever do.

Not sure.
I live in Northern England up a mountain and it's always cold. Even in summertime, yet thousands of years ago the Romans made wine here. There is loads of evidence that grapes were grown, harvested and fermented.

Grapes cannot be grown here now. I'm a gardener (it's my job) and I know this. Growing vines is futile. It's too cold.
I can grow root vegetables with no problem- potatoes, carrots, parsnip. And berries when the season is right. Because of the climate, they grow slowly; it intensifies the flavour.

Climate change is a reality. I have no doubt about that. It's a fact. I can remember winter as a kid. It was different to what it is now. (anecdotal but whatever)
Whether it is made by human activity, I don't know.
