Ukraine was twice as big, had a lot more people and nukes. Ukraine and Belarus had HUGE armies after the Cold War. We had a big military too but so did everyone in the region. The only thing we could have technically pulled off was maybe invading Lithuania. But we were poor, had a massive debt, economic crisis, strikes, political strife and a huge rise in organized crime in the 90s, so we focused on establishing good relations and unfucking our country
