I find that many of their funniest writers no longer produce many of the articles. In fact, most seem to continue doing the comedy via videos now, which is pretty much Cracked's only claim to be a humour site anymore.
I dislike their approach to be a more "newsworthy" site, as opposed to a "hey look at these 5 guys who did awesome shit in WW2" timewaster
Honestly? The site succumbed to a shit-load of cronyism, and those who wrote for it started thinking they were the top of the tower, the cream of the crop, the stinkless shitters of India's legend.
I had a little background on the vetting process for articles, and though none of mine ever went through, I got to see how screwed up it was first hand.
The vetting process is *hard*, but the little fine-print writing beneath that statement reads "for new authors." Ever wonder why every article has the same names above it?
If you submit an idea interesting enough you get past the weed-out forums into the private ones. The ones I saw there would have been *wayyyy* better than half the shit they peddled on their site.
But for some reason new authors always had inaccuracies (nevermind the glaring inaccuracies their primary writers laced articles with weekly), or would not make interesting lists (because our readers want to read "5 Reasons X taught me Y" instead of "4 weird claims to extraterrestrial real-estate that actually made it to court".), or would not be funny (Let's have another photo-caption instead!)
Eventually this lack of quality began shattering their once-great site, until where we are now, where the good veneer of the site has Cracked, and we're left with the disgusting underbelly beneath.

This is actually something I was thinking about a few hours ago.
If I were to make a site like that, were would I get the information from? Getting information is not that easy. If it was I wouldn't have to go to sites like cracked where they put that information out in an easy to understand format.
People say that we live in the information age and all you have to do is google something, but it's not that easy. I always google things and try to find information. You get conflicting information or not even what you are looking for.
Just an example. I see people posting long videos on twitter, but I can only post a 20 sec video, so I look up how to post a longer video. The results are not even related to what I am looking for. I do some digging and I find a video on the subject, a guy is showing how to upload a longer video, but the video is old, so it's no longer relevant.
I do more digging and I find reddit posts where assholes just go ''sent you the solution ;)''.
It took way too much effort to find out that you need to go trough some sort of an advertisement campaign to post longer videos.
Pretty much every time I try to find out something that's not common knowledge I end up spending an hour on google and youtube chasing dead-ends.
Looking up products like nootropics is a complete nightmare.

Yeah, the videos from around the world and on certain topics are great, but then you read the articles or watch things on certain topics and you can see the very leftist bias showing trough.
