Actually circumcision is not nearly as common in liberal areas. As a matter of fact in places like San Francisco it's actually illegal.

Actual cases of sids are extremely rare and only a tiny fraction of what gets classified as sids. Most of the time sids can be explained by something else, it has just become a general umbrella term for accidental infant death.
