Gypsies are one of the few minorities which I believe the problem lies in the culture but not race.
You all know the meme about Romanians being gypsies and all that. And while I consider myself white (my skin is pale as fuck and I have blue eyes), it is really interesting to see that gypsies are rarely defined by physical characteristics. There's a bajillion people in Romania who have darker skin and if I gave you photographs of them, you would absolutely think they're gypsie or something like that. But in real life they act nothing like gypsies, they're good workers and normal people.
I was surprised a few years ago to find out that my next-door neighbor and childhood best friend is actually half-gypsie, from his mom. It was such an honest surprise because his family was one of the sanest and okay families in the entire complex, never heard them fighting, honest workers and the guy in question is pretty based too.
So I don't know about black people or mexicans or arabs and all that, but I feel like with gypsies if you literally tell them to drop their shitty culture and educate their kids properly and send them to school, they would no longer be a problem with anyone.
Most of them can't even speak the language of the country they live in and they're lazy af

Northern gypos (from northern romania upward and a bit eastward): light skinned and most of the time green eyed (green and brown are the only variations, blue doesn't apply; if its blue, its not a gypo). They are ok, they hold on to traditional values and not their forced culture. You won't notice any difference from any normal person.
Southern gypos (or the ones everyone hates): are the ones that mixed with slavs, vlachs, dacians, ottoman turks and greeks. Thats why their culture is so fucked up, they tried to incorporate every one of those mentioned above, into their culture and failed hard. Thats why they find it hard to integrate anywhere, because they don't know what they are anymore.

When I was about 10 I found out they were real. I don't remember who told me or if I saw it on tv but I thought it was a joke.
I remember asking adults what exactly they were and why they still existed. Are they a race? An ethnic group? Is it just a catchall term in Europe for people in trailer parks?
It just didn't make sense to me that an entire group of people chose to live like traveling circus freaks. How is being poor and homeless a culture? Don't lots of them want to leave and live like regular people?
The answers were usually the same as you get asking about black people. Basically boiled down to "I'm not sure but I'm sure there's a good reason and it isn't their fault".

No, I'm 100% certain his family from the mom's side is gypsy.
